It had been a long day for the both of them. There were no big flashy battles to be won but there had been students to teach. Storm spent her day in the classroom, dealing with students who didn’t want to pay attention. She knew that the weather outside was a bit of the problem but so was the fact that it was so close to Spring break which meant a trip home for the students. She sighed as she moved against the wall to let some of the younger students run by. “Slow down!” She called after them, moving some of her white hair behind her ear. She couldn’t wait to get to her own room and sink into a nice warm bubble bath.

Logan was turning the corner as he heard Storm tell some others to slow down. He smiled as he looked at her. He had a hard day as well. It started off well, with it being quiet, before he got into an argument with Scott. That had been happening more and more with Jean being gone. He was learning to be the bigger person though and let Scott win most of the arguments. He knew that was helping a small bit but it did rob him of his good mood by nine am that morning. Then he went on to train, losing a battle to a good new student by the name of Gambit which is not what he wanted to really do. If not for his healing abilities, the day could have been a bit short on time. However, he had been able to teach Gambit that one does not go full out during training battles, even if his voice had been rough. He moved over to Storm, a bit of a smile on his face as he did so. “Long day?” He asked quietly.

Storm looked up at him and smiled a small bit. “A little,” she said quietly. “I heard that you lost a training battle today.” She had a bit of amusement playing through her eyes. “Seems to be the most popular bit of gossip of today.”

“Well,” Logan said as he slid a hand through his hair. “I’m not going to be perfect all of the time. And if it had been anybody other than me, that person would have been dead. So I’m glad that I got my ass kicked by a kid twice or three times my junior. Better than Scott or you getting it. You two are the responsible ones.”

“We’re not the only responsible ones here,” Storm reminded him gently as she started to walk again. She motioned for him to follow. “You are doing your own bit of teaching and being responsible, Logan.”

“I don’t think we really want to call what I’m doing responsible,” he replied with a chuckle. “Then again, if you want to, I won’t really complain.”

“I do want to call it that,” she said with a soft smile to him. “I think you’re doing a wonderful job with all the students – not just the ones that you train in combat.”

He chuckled. “Flattery will get you everywhere and nearly anything.”

“You know what I always want from you,” she said quietly as she touched his hand, sending a very slight electric spark up his arm. “But it’s not flattery. It is the truth, Logan. Like it or not, you are one of the responsible adults here. I do hope that you get used to it before we have to force you to recognize it.”

“I do believe we had the lesson on how you can’t really force me, Ororo,” he said quietly to her. He made sure that nobody was looking or coming before he softly kissed her cheek.

“True, I can’t,” she admitted quietly as she moved and kissed his cheek back. “But I can suggest strongly and you can take my suggestion as what you want to do. There is no force but yet you bend your will to me.”

“With your curves, of course,” he joked to her.

She grinned at him and gently pulled him into a shadow. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed his lips lightly and lovingly. He only surprised her by kissing her back the same way. She looked up at him when they broke the kiss to breathe. “Really?” She whispered.

“Yes, really,” he whispered. “If you can forgive me for being so blind to it.”

“I forgive easily Logan,” she whispered back to him.

“Then yes, I do love you,” he whispered, barely audible. “It took a long time because of Jean and then her death.”

“I know,” she whispered as she gently touched his cheek. “I don’t mind that it took so long. Good things come to those who wait. You are one of those things, Logan. You always will be.”

“Thank you,” he whispered and sighed. “Where were you going? Considering that we can’t really stay here much longer without someone seeing us.”

“To my room to relax,” she answered quietly. “I was envisioning a nice bubble bath, some candles, and a good book. You’ll make a good substitute,” she joked to him. “Come with me?”

“Of course,” he replied quietly as he took her hand and kissed it. “And I hope that I’m better than any book that you are reading.”

All she did was chuckle as she kept his hand and took him towards the elevator. “You are,” she did finally admit quietly. “I will take a book over you any day.”

“Thank you,” he said with a grin as they waited for the elevator doors to close. “Are you alright with this?” He asked quietly.

“Our relationship? It’s been less than five minutes, Logan,” she said with a bit of a sigh.

“I meant the elevator ride,” he replied gently as he touched her shoulder. “I wouldn’t have minded taking the stairs.”

“No, its fine,” she replied with a soft sigh. “Plus, it’s been a week. I didn’t mean to react like that then, but it just happened. I can’t control my fear.”

“True,” he replied and gently hugged her, kissing the top of her head. She smiled at that and leaned against him, closing her eyes. She took deep breaths, calming herself down as she listened to his heart beat. When they stopped, she opened her eyes as the door opened and they moved out of the elevator. He took her hand again as she led the way to her room, opening the door and letting him go inside.

“Do you want anything to drink?” She asked as she looked around to make sure that everything was in place. She had cleaned recently and there was nothing that would have her be embarrassed. A cat meowed and rubbed against Logan’s legs as he reached down to pet her.

“Whatever you think I should have,” he replied with a smile as he walked over to join her in the kitchen area.

She grinned and got out the white wine she was chilling. She opened the bottle and poured some for both of them. “Here,” she said.

He smiled and took a sip. He just smiled at her as she laughed at his face. “Right, I am not into wine,” he said quietly.

“That’s fine,” she said as she took his hand and led him into the bathroom. “It’s not needed in here,” she said as they started their relaxing night together as a couple.
