It didn't seem like it was ever going to happen. We were together for a short while; I lost my heart to you, but I was not the only one. Everybody wanted to be with you, a lot of people wanted to be you. And why shouldn't they? You were the hero, the one who finally rid them of the evil Dark Lord and his Death Eaters.

The first time I saw you I wanted to be close to you, but you said no to my friendship. You picked Weasley instead; that hurt, but I never was the one to show hurt, I got even. It helped for a while. I hurt you over and over again, I hurt your friends and for a while I thought I wanted to hurt those muggles you fought for. I couldn't, I guess I wasn't really a killer.

After you saved my life, and my mother lied to the Dark Lord for you, things changed more then I thought they would. We spent some stolen moments together after it was all over, I fell for you and I thought you fell for me. You left me though, because you loved Ginny, you said.

I missed you so much. I couldn't hate you anymore though, not like I did at Hogwarts. I loved you, maybe I always did, I still am not sure about that. Stopping you was not something I could do, I didn't have the right. So I just let you leave me, but I decided to wait, I would alway wait for you.

I am glad I waited; today would not be happening if I hadn't waited, if I had given up on you, on us. I still can't believe you came back to me, left the life you could have had with Ginny, for me. The day you returned and told me you loved me was the best day of my life - until our wedding day of course.

“Draco, you look perfect.” I smiled at my mother as she was fussing over how I looked; she wanted my wedding to be the best day ever. I knew all I needed for it to be perfect was you to be there, to become my husband. You and me against all odds.

It hasn't been easy for my family to accept us but they finally did. I was happy to see that your friends made an effort too. I did too, knowing very well that I can be a spoiled brat, I made an effort to be nice to your friends and the Weasleys, even Ginny. It was worth it, you looked happy, your happiness is what I want.

I stare at myself making sure I really do look perfect, “It is time, son.” I nod and walk out to meet you, marry you against all odds.
