Prompt: Kaitou/Yuusuke: Corny/terrible pick-up lines--"You've stolen my heart"

Posting this a few days late! Gomen! ><

Kaitou Daiki removed the blue envelope from his mailbox with quite a bit of skepticism. It wasn't that he couldn't immediately tell who the letter was from - no, the skepticism rose from the fact that prior to receiving the letter, Kaitou Daiki wasn't even aware that he had a mailbox. And why it was in the main room the Hikari studio, he would never know. But the fact remained that he suddenly had a mailbox and there was a letter inside it, with his name written across the front. He already had a pretty good guess of who the letter was from, but after glancing around to make sure his suspect wasn't in the room he decided to open the letter and find out if he was right or not.

"Dear Kaitou," the letter began, and Daiki rolled his eyes a little. "I've known there was something special about you from the very first moment I met you. I love the way your eyes glow with mischieff-" Daiki had to try hard to reel in his gag reflexes at that one, but continued reading, morbid curiosity getting the better of him. "I want to be one of your precious treasures. You've really stolen my heart..."

After reading that line, Daiki couldn't hold it in any longer. He had to laugh. He ended up doubled over on the floor, laughing uncontrollably until Tsukasa and Natsumi showed up, Natsumi concerned and Tsukasa complaining about the noise. Still snickering he glanced over the letter one more time, finding that the only other thing on the page was where the "mysterious person" had signed their name as..."mysterious person". Biting his lip to keep from laughing again, he handed the letter over to Tsukasa and Natsumi.

It wasn't like he didn't know who the letter was from. Even if it wasn't painfully obvious to Daiki just based on the way they had been acting around him recently, he could tell from the handwriting. But it wasn't like he had been studying Yuusuke's handwriting or anything! And he certainly hadn't been doing it because he liked the way Yuusuke would crinkle his eyebrows in concentration when he wrote, or the way he'd nibble or suck lightly on the end of the pencil or pen (and that certainly didn't give rise to any fantasies of Daiki's about Yuusuke, of course not). Nope, he was most certainly not studying Yuusuke's handwriting for anything like that...it was just in case he ever needed to forge Yuusuke's name. For illegal purposes. Yes.

But the point was, Daiki already knew who the letter was from, so when Tsukasa and Natsumi handed the letter back, snickering themselves and barely holding back laughter of their own at the situation, he wasn't really expecting them to tell him anything that he didn't already know.

"It's from Yuusuke. He always gets like this when he likes somebody," Natsumi informed him. Tsukasa smirked over at her, elbowing her lightly.

"What was it he called you? His "summer love"? Didn't he say "the summer sunset over the ocean can't compare to the beauty of your eyes" or something like that?" Tsukasa asked. Daiki snickered and Natsumi turned her glare to Tsukasa, blushing.

"Well, at least he didn't tell me he wanted to "spend the decades" with me! Or compare the color of his love for me to a certain pink Rider suit!" Natsumi retorted. Tsukasa glared.

"It's magenta!" he protested. Daiki laughed, folding the letter back up and replacing it in the envelope.

"It's not really Yuusuke's fault. He just freezes up whenever he tries to talk to someone he really likes," Natsumi replied, her voice a bit softer than it had been before. Daiki blushed a little, coughing to hopefully distract them from the heat that was collecting in his cheeks.

"Is that so?" he asked, standing and placing the envelope back in his oddly-shaped blue and black mailbox and shutting the lid as he walked out. He found Yuusuke in no time - he was prowling around a shopping center near where the Hikari studio had landed in this new universe. Easily sneaking up behind him (which was a feat, considering that Yuusuke normally had excellent hearing and, well, he was Kuuga and all), he managed to get an arm around his shoulders and grin at him before Yuusuke could react with more than just an open mouth in surprise.

"K-k-kaito!" Yuusuke stammered. Kaitou just continued to grin at him.

"Yo," Daiki replied. "The funniest thing just happened to me! I got a love letter."

"R-really?" Yuusuke asked, somehow managing to look even more nervous than before, a feat that was almost impressive to Daiki. Daiki grinned impishly, still keeping his arm slung around the shorter man's shoulders as he ticked off a list on his hands.

"It wasn't from Tsukasa...or Natsumi...I hope to god the old man didn't write it...Kivaara doesn't have hands...so who does that leave that could have written me that letter, hmm?" he asked, turning a fox grin on Yuusuke, whose face had become roughly the color of a tomato.

"I-I...umm..." Yuusuke stammered, and Daiki finally released the hold on his shoulders. Daiki couldn't help grinning at him - the way he was fidgeting and blushing was really adorable.

"A-are you a dimension hopper? Cause you're out of this world!" Yuusuke finally stammered. Daiki's grin fell into an absolutely shocked expression for all of two seconds, before he registered the horrified and embarassed look on Yuusuke's face. He had to put a hand to his mouth to keep from laughing, but even that couldn't manage to contain his laughter after what Yuusuke said next.

"No, that's not what I meant! I meant...you take my breath away like a phantom thief..." he couldn't even finish his sentence, trailing off lamely.

All Yuusuke could do was stand there, staring at his shoes, while Daiki tried desperately to reign in his laughter. Seeing the absolutely mortified look on his face, however, he managed to get ahold of himself. With a cough, he put a serious expression on his face, moving in front of Yuusuke and taking his hands, prompting the shorter man to look up at him.

"I wouldn't mind making you one of my 'precious treasures', Yuusuke," Daiki said, blushing a little (to his annoyance). "Or...stealing your heart."

Oh geez, that had felt corny to say.

"K-kaitou!" Yuusuke exclaimed, honest shock on his face. Daiki just grinned down at him.

"You can call me Daiki, by the way," he replied. "But only if you stop spewing such cheesy pickup lines," he finished with a wink. Yuusuke looked away.

"S-sorry. I just...I get so nervous, all I can think of is stuff like that when I'm trying to talk to someone I like-" Yuusuke's eyes widened when he realized what he had said, looking up at Daiki with a little bit of desperation on his face. Daiki just smirked and leaned down, capturing the shorter Rider's lips in a tender kiss. Yuusuke was shocked still for a few seconds, but quickly seemed to just melt into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Daiki's shoulders as the taller Rider slipped one arm around Yuusuke's waist, the other threading into his shorter hair. Daiki contented himself with taking the kiss slow, only pulling away from the liplock when he felt himself getting low on air. Yuusuke kept his eyes closed a few seconds longer than he should have, finally opening them and grinning up at Daiki. He looked like he was going to say something, and Daiki braced for another terrible pick-up line, but Yuusuke just said nothing, instead leaning his head on Daiki's shoulder.
