I think sometimes people forget what we saw of her in the academy days flashback, where she is not only smart but strong. I mean, she is the one, the only one stood her ground when Hisagi told them all to run, right? Renji and Kira came back, but only because she held. Such a fierce little muskrit! So for this, I wanted to show the strength and confidence she had before Aizen started twisting her.
