Title: Always read the whole contract
Author/Artist:

Rating: R
Warnings: Implications, nudity, and unbetaed. (I think that's it.)
Word count: 1,633
Prompt: Fullmetal Alchemist/D. Gray-man crossover, Ticky Mick/Lust: Hedonism. "We're in the same line of business, after all."
It had just been a discussion of business. Considering their employers/masters had agreed to an alliance to take down their separate foes, it probably should have stayed that way.
But Tiki Mick never really took rules all that seriously. …Well unless they involved pain as a consequence, then he obeyed to the letter. At the moment he had an attractive woman who was a near immortal like himself to occupy his attention. He breathed slowly, the cigarette still in his lips as she unbuttoned his dark coat and passed a smooth hand over his chest. “So what’s so different about being a homunculus from being human?” As much as he’d like to banish all thoughts with mindless indulgence he did have to get a little information out of this encounter. Only enough to say he did his job and nothing more.
Lust studied him from where she was sitting on his lap, her violet cat like eyes narrowing faintly. This man was attractive, but there was an air of cold intent under the surface. She stalled, her black gloved fingers finding the clasps on his vest. The Noah was asking about things in a manner that suggested he was used to getting information this way. She found it almost ironically amusing that both Dante and the Earl used those of pleasure as information hounds. “Many things are different.”
The sin took a page from Envy’s book to be vague and cryptic for a moment.
The shape-shifter did have some redeeming qualities even if he had an explosive temper.
She liked to think she helped keep the elder homunculus in line. It was something to else control in a business that gave her only enough to choke on. Lust noted the Noah’s disapproving frown as she parted his shirt with expert precision.
“You’re dodging.” He rebuked her even as he hissed at the purposeful scratch of her nails on his neck. He shifted quietly, his hands sliding up her sides. If the Noah distracted her a little he might not have to give in order to receive information. He’d learned about that law of equal trade and he found it distasteful. Something about it screamed of falsehood to him, but it could be the fact he never played fair. “Why not give me a real answer? What could it hurt? We’re in the same line of business, after all.”
The dark haired woman narrowed her eyes again as she rested her hands on his shoulders. “Because there are some things that should be best left unanswered.” She breathed before inhaling sharply as he bit between the junction of her shoulder and neck. “And distracting me won’t get you the answers either.” She had played this game too long to let such things slip. Lust would rather not end up dodging Dante and the other homunculus. The woman would give her what she wanted, she wouldn’t screw that up.
Tiki studied her from under the fringes of his bangs for a moment.
She had to have a weakness, something that would get her to spill what she knew.
He just needed to find the right spot to strike. “What’s so dangerous about me knowing the differences?” He had to pause, the slow slide of his hands along her sides to set his cigarette in the convenient ashtray.
They were in a hotel room. It was easier to keep from being overheard discussing the destruction of your enemies if they didn’t think that was what you were doing.
When she’d suggested it over the phone, the Noah had been skeptical about the idea. He still was wary of a double crossing, but he tended to be that way about powerful allies. Especially when they weren’t loyal to the Earl and certainly not from his world, it just tended to be his policy not to trust such people blindly. Tiki still recalled when Lust had grown her nails out at will like long blades. He wasn’t going to kid himself and say they weren’t sharp.
That would be like saying Earl was always cheerful, he knew better.
There was something beneath the surface that was constantly hateful and violent.
“I don’t exactly trust you or your master.” Lust finally stated as she slid his shirt from his shoulders. It was getting harder to focus on information gathering, Tiki pulling her gloves off with his teeth didn’t help matters any. She noted his briefly annoyed expression at her retort to his question. From what Envy had gritted out about the man, she knew he was a professional cheat and assassin.
Hopefully, she wasn’t dealing with another like Greed. Lust was fairly sure Tiki was different; he seemed more willing to be obedient to his lord. She shifted as he slid the zipper down on the back of her dress and drew her close to him. She shut her eyes as her now bared chest came in contact with his. Like always the woman couldn’t get over the warmth of a living human being, she was slightly colder and this close it was very obvious. She scratched her finger nails lightly down his back and watched him arch slightly.
He wasn’t happy with her response to his question. But he wrote off this encounter as a simple business discussion with little information. Tiki was sure the Earl would live with that, he could always try again each time they met. He was certainly hoping he could deal with her and not that dark haired, explosively tempered brat that seemed like an androgynous version of Skin with more intelligence. But the Earl wouldn’t like it if he indulged without a shred of information to give upon returning home. “I don’t trust you or your master either. But,”
The Noah leaned up pressing his mouth to hers as his fingers threaded through her hair. It was strange to imagine that she knew a different world than the one he’d walked. Why the hell he was thinking about this right now he had no idea. As she tried to draw back for whatever reason he pursued her. Tiki bit back a noise of disappointment as she pressed a hand to his chest and sat back a little, her mouth drawn away from his.
“But if you give information in exchange for your questions, we might be able to set that mistrust aside.” Lust breathed as she studied him before slipping off his lap.
He made to protest this until he saw she was walking towards the bed. “What kind of information do I have to give up to get answers to my questions?” He shook his head faintly, while inwardly cursing that damn law of equal trade. The dark haired Noah did however get up and follow her. He knew better than to leave a lady waiting. He didn’t like the way she was studying him as if comparing him with someone else.
Call it a pet peeve but he didn’t like being compared to others, it reminded him of the Earl’s ‘Tiki’s fuck ups’ stories. Tiki had certainly had enough of those to last him a lifetime and maybe the next one. Some tiny thought asked if there would be a next life if the Earl succeeded. He kicked it into silence as he came to stand before the homunculus.
She studied the man before her, looking for even the smallest similarity to homunculus. She didn’t find it but she wasn’t disappointed. “Equal trade; if you ask about us homunculus you have to answer questions about you the Noah.” Lust gestured lightly before she finished removing the dress and looked at him. “I trust you’ve heard-“
“Yes, yes I’ve heard it.” Tiki snapped as he fought his irritation that he couldn’t get information any other way. He sighed as he slid his arms about her and grumbled to himself. “Deal.” He breathed as she slipped a hand over his chest, her finger nails raking lightly.
“They have souls. We don’t.” She drew him down with her and lay back on the mattress as he braced his hands on either side of her head. Lust traced the black crosses on his forehead before narrowed her eyes faintly. “Just where does your power source for your skills come from?” She watched him press his cheek into her fingers and nip at them.
“Noah, his memories are carried in the genetic makeup those of us directly descended from him, at various ages we wake to it.” The Noah made a face as he thought of his awakening, but his partner was sliding her arms about his neck. This was an effective distraction he willingly let happen. He made a slow line of kisses down her jaw and smiled slightly at her sigh. “What about yours?”
She stilled in his arms for a second. Lust knew she couldn’t tell him the answer to that question. It was far too dangerous to voice such knowledge. She was quick to ask something that might just knock him off balance. "Tell me Tiki, have you ever once given a thought to consequences? Especially those of taking up the power you've been given and who you owe your allegiance too? There's always a price for power, have you paid it yet?"
The homunculus watched the Noah leave in silence. She hadn’t expected his reaction of sheer horror or the way he’d hastily gotten dressed. She’d listened to him stammer out excuses of being late returning and as well as leave means to contact him later. Lust had to wonder just how the Earl was keeping the Noah under control. She was already guessing it was because he didn’t show them the whole contract before they signed the dotted line. Perhaps their masters were more alike than she thought they were.
