Zack was a lucky one, and he knew it. He was the youngest SOLDIER to make 1st Class, he was friends with General Sephiroth, and he had an amazing girlfriend, better than he deserved.

So he was careful with her, more gentle even than she necessarily wanted him to be. He could take his time when he wanted to, and more than once she would bite his lip to get him to kiss her harder, push against him in bed until he finally lost his careful restraint and took her. But even then, when he bent to her implacable will, he still reigned in his strength, always aware and always careful of his ability to seriously hurt her with minimal effort.

So he was gentle with her, and courted her frustration in turn. He was a lucky one, after all, and he had an amazing girlfriend. He didn’t want to lose her.
