Prompt: Final Fantasy VII, Cloud/Sephiroth/Aeris: Playing with a lover's hair - 'I love thee with a passion put to use/In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.'
They lay tangled together afterwards, naked and exhausted and dripping with sweat in the heat of the afternoon. As Sephiroth lay half-drowsing, Cloud curled up in his arms, Aeris nestled close to his back and stroked her fingers through his hair.
It felt like it should have hurt - Sephiroth's hair tangled easily - but Aeris's fingers were gentle and sure, stroking from crown to ends, and there was a deep satisfaction to the pull in his hair when a tangle parted under her touch. Sephiroth shifted and sighed, content, and was rewarded with a soft chuckle. "Feels nice?" Aeris whispered.
"Mhm."
Cloud lifted his head a fraction, peering blearily over Sephiroth's shoulder. "What does?" he asked, with a playful-suspicious undertone to the question: and why aren't I involved?
Sephiroth couldn't see Aeris's impish grin, but he could well imagine it. "Petting his hair."
"Lucky," Cloud grumbled. Sephiroth glanced at him in surprise.
Well, if that's what Cloud wanted. "Here, then," he said, and languidly turned over between them, settling on his stomach. "Better?"
Cloud's eyes softened. He reached out, passing his hand over Sephiroth's hair in a gentle stroke, and after a moment Aeris joined him.
