Title: Come as You Aren’t
Author/Artist:
syvia
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Cross-dressing, bathroom smut, slight voyeurism.
Word Count: 7180
Summary: The trio are on a mission; make contact with a Princess of Heart. To do that, they have to go to a costume ball. Problem- the only costumes left aren’t quite appropriate.
Prompt: 38. Kingdom Hearts 2, Sora/Riku/Kairi: cross-dressing on a public date – “Thank goodness no one knows us on this wor- Oh, shit. Is that Aerith?”
Notes: I hope you guys like this. :/ My inner critic won’t shut up about doing more edits and I couldn’t find my beta for a last-minute check. I’d like to thank
lostangelssong for helping out. ^^
This was the fifth costume store and Sora was this close to taking a Keyblade to the wall- no, no- the empty racks- no- he'd firaga the entire building! He stared at the garment bag in his hands and tried to ignore the silent chuckling in the back of his head.
"Any luck?"
He flinched and turned so he partially blocked the costume with his body as Kairi approached. Her expression was downcast, resigned, and Sora sighed.
"Well... kinda." He showed her the costume. Her eyes grew wide.
She stared.
She stared some more.
Sora scratched his head, and blushed slightly.
Kairi stared.
"There wasn't anything else in my size," he muttered.
"I-"
Sora raised an eyebrow. Had she just squeaked?
Kairi cleared her throat. "I think you should get it."
He gaped at her. "You have to be kidding. It's a woman's costume, Kairi."
"So?" she asked, regaining her composure. "We can't show up to this party in flimsy costumes and this is the last good store on that list the King’s friend gave us." Sora groaned loudly and Kairi took his hands. "C'mon, Sora. It's important."
"Do you really need me there?" he muttered plaintively.
Kairi smiled, happily, because he'd caved, and because her next words were a vulnerability she loved to admit. "I always need you."
He grinned at her. They kissed- a brief, lovely warm pressure, just lips, and Kairi tugged him in the direction of the men's aisle. Sora kept a firm grip on the costume and let himself be pulled.
"Kairi- why are we going to-"
"I still need to find something!"
***
"So you're being a princess," Riku pointed at Sora, "and you're being a mob boss," he shifted the finger to Kairi, "and this," he pointed at the garment bag in his hand, "makes me what, exactly?"
They were trying valiantly not to laugh, he could see it in their faces.
"The label says 'showgirl'."
"Yeah, I'm gonna show a lot if I wear this skirt."
"C'mon, Riku, it's all part of the plan!" Sora protested. Riku scoffed. Sora continued. "I'll look more like a princess than Kairi, and anyone watching for us will be looking at me- not her! With you there, they won't even notice Kairi, and they'll barely notice me!"
Riku looked at Sora's proud, determined expression, and Kairi's enthusiastic hope. He sighed.
"You're so full of it."
But he shoved the bag under his arm and headed for the front of the shop. Kairi bounded up next to him and hugged him from the side. Sora grinned as he brought up the rear.
He looked at Riku's rear and imagined the sight of him in that tiny silver mini-skirt, the halter-top that would hardly cover anything.... He sucked on his lower lip and stopped looking, lest he drool more.
***
"This is such a rip-off!"
The clerk continued to smile as Kairi sighed and put back the makeup she'd been considering. There was only one reason they'd be renting the costumes- and only one reason they hadn't walked out when the guy demanded fifteen thousand munny for their rental. The party was tonight, and he knew his costumes were the best in the city.
She wouldn't buy the makeup here. They were already paying him enough.
Riku continued to glare, and the clerk continued not to say anything, only smile. Sora, amidst Riku's grumbling, paid up.
"My thanks, milords and lady. Wilt thou have anything else?"
"Yeah," Riku hissed. "Your balls on a platter for cheating us, you a-" Sora covered his mouth and they both led him out of the shop.
“Wow they have a weird way of talking here,” Sora muttered as they dropped the costumes in the car. Riku slammed the trunk lid with a little more force than necessary and they piled in- Sora driving (Riku was still just a little annoyed), Kairi in the passenger seat, and Riku muttering in the back. “Look,” he said, watching Riku through the rear-view mirror, “we can make that back easy, you know we can.”
“It wasn’t our munny.”
“The King gave it to us so we’d be sure to have enough. He wants us to succeed, and he’ll understand.”
“Sora, park over there,” Kairi interrupted.
He obeyed, easily, and kept talking to Riku. “I wasn’t just trying to get you into a dress, yanno.” Kairi hopped out of the car and headed into the convenience store that was so well placed. Sora glanced after her, as did Riku, but they were far past the stage of being so protective that they didn’t let her go anywhere alone. “I really do plan to keep attention off Kairi by dressing as a girl.”
“The plan’s fine, Sora,” he muttered. “I just don’t like the feel of this world. No Heartless, no visible malevolent presence, but the Darkness is obvious.” He waved a hand at the newspaper box and the grandiose headline on the front page.
THREE CIVIL BRAWLS
“We should be thinking of some way to fix this- not going to a party.”
“Kairi is convinced it will help.”
“That sixth sense of hers is really starting to bug me.”
“It’s only helped us so far.”
“Yeah- helped us and nearly gotten her killed.”
“That’s why we help, stick with her, and be ready to push her out of the way of the psychos it eventually leads her to.”
“Okay!”
They shook out of their musing as Kairi practically bounced out of the store, a white plastic bag hanging bulkily from her wrist.
“We’re set! Let’s go back to the hotel and get ready.” She climbed over the side of the car, prize held safely in her lap. Her grin was far too wide.
“Kairi... what is that?”
It only grew wider when she looked over her shoulder at Riku.
“You’ll see!”
***
They had room service at the hotel before starting their preparations. The three of them, by themselves, in pairs, and even all together, had been at more than one fancy dress party over the last two years. Most of the time, the food was a bit too 'high end' for their tastes, although Kairi loved chocolate as much as the next girl, Sora had developed an odd appreciation for caviar, and Riku would try just about anything if you put it on a toothpick.
Riku had also, luckily, developed a sixth sense about drugged and poisoned food. It had kept them out of more than one sticky situation- but it also meant they didn't always get much to eat at these things. Five Events ago they'd started the tradition of eating a large meal before the party and barely touching any food during.
Once the dumplings and the noodles and that tasty vegetable dish Sora insisted on had been tucked away, Kairi produced the bag she'd been carrying out of the convenience store. Out of it came circular plastic containers, small glass bottles and small tubes of transparent plastic with flesh-colored creams inside.
She raised a bottle of foundation in each hand and beamed at them. "Who wants to go first?"
Sora felt a stomachache coming on.
***
"Purse your lips like this." She made a face like a fish. Riku glanced at the bathroom door. "Sora's still busy," Kairi assured him, "c'mon."
He made the face.
Kairi smiled pleasantly, serenely, as she applied mascara. Riku almost grinned, but stopped before his expression changed. Namine had often looked like that while drawing. It was the face of an artist as they realized their painting would turn out even better than they'd expected.
Eventually she put away the wand and raised a tube of glittering sliver lipstick.
"Do this." Kairi let her mouth fall open gently, showing all of her lips. Riku copied her. She spread the gloss in firm strokes and eventually stepped back. She grinned. "All done."
Riku smirked, which made her grin even more, and turned to look in the mirror. He blinked.
"What's the matter?" she asked.
"...I thought you were going to make me look like a woman."
Kairi was packing up some of the cosmetics in the plastic bag- stowing others in a small sliver purse they'd picked up at the costume store. She smiled.
"Riku, I could give you fake boobs, style your hair and dress you in a floor length brocade gown. You still wouldn't look like a woman."
He gave her a skeptical look. "I thought makeup solved everything."
"How little you know," she said, waggling a bottle of concealer in his direction. Kairi chuckled. "When you were fourteen and your face was rounder, before your shoulders got so broad, we could have pulled it off. Now your face is just too masculine."
"I should probably be happy about that."
This was simply too much fun. Kairi knew she should probably be worried about tonight's party, but she'd always loved to dress up, loved Halloween, and it was all the more amusing when you gender-bent the costumes.
"So if I'm not a woman," Riku was saying, turning his face this way and that, "what am I?"
Kairi smirked playfully and stood next to him before the mirror. She applied her usual face cream, the usual foundation, and then took a small brush and a slightly darker powder than was her norm. With it she began to change the shading of her face. The contours of her cheekbones and jaw line were altered, just a bit, just enough to make her look less like Kairi and more like a young man that could have been her brother. In the back of their mind, Namine hummed softly and helped guide her strokes.
"Riku in women's clothing?" she suggested once they were done. "A transvestite?"
"Stick with 'Riku in women's clothing,'" he said, rolling his eyes. "The second suggests I do this regularly."
Kairi laughed, then smiled, and considered herself in the mirror. Or perhaps- himself. Kairi didn't look like Kairi anymore, and she pulled one of Sora's sleeveless T-shirts on over her bound breasts, then the costume's suit-shirt over that. The trousers she'd been wearing all the while were adjusted, and she topped it all with the jacket.
She couldn't help grinning, then giggling, at Riku's smile. He clipped the tie on for her and dropped a fedora on her head.
"How do I look?" she asked, lowering her voice an octave. Riku shook his head in rueful amusement and adjusted his skirt.
"More comfortable than I feel," he muttered. "You look like a guy, Kairi," he continued. "Wanna try walking like one?"

Sora attempted once again to tighten the laces of the corset while it was on his body, at Roxas' murmured direction. His Other heard the idle thought that it worried him that Roxas seemed so knowledgeable about this.
:Some of the Organization wore girdles.:
Please tell me it was the girl.
:Larxene was one. She was hardly the only one.:
Please tell me you-
:No. I didn't. But I had to help the others sometimes. Being the Keyblade Master didn't get me out of all the bitch duties.:
Sora chuckled softly as he wrestled with the garment.
:You know, it'd be a lot easier if you got Riku or Kairi to do it for you.:
Yeah. But I'd rather postpone going out there in this getup for as long as possible. I thought the makeup would be the worst part.
Kairi had done it up for him before he came in. He looked girlish with makeup alone- the dress was simply confirmation of the insanity. Sora kept accidentally glancing in the mirror and wondering who that cute girl was. Every time he did, Roxas snickered.
At the moment though, his Other was contemplative.
:I don't quite get it.:
Sora knew what he meant. Roxas didn't see the problem. Sora had been a dolphin, a lion, a vampire, and a number of other, even stranger things, since receiving the Keyblade four years ago. He hadn't undergone a spell change this time. It was just clothes. Roxas knew what was in Sora's heart- but if Sora didn't even understand how he was feeling, and Roxas was still somewhat different than his Other....
"Well..." Sora murmured, out loud, trying to talk it out, tease some sense out of his thoughts. "When it's me- but fitting into another world, it's still me. Still how I act, still me thinking the way I think, just- instinct helping me work inside the new place. It's still my body, even if it has more legs, or none at all. I think the way I think- it's just... translated different. I wasn't really trying to act different, even if I was trying to act like I belonged, and the spell that changed me helped out.
"Here, I'm pretending to be a different person, and a girl, and I've never done that before."
:But-:
"Look, would you want to do this?"
There was a profound silence in his heart and a slight flutter of embarrassment.
Sora blinked and froze. "Oh no way-"
:What?:
Roxas had pulled inward, not letting any of his memories drift as he usually did. Sora resisted the urge to go looking. It always resulted in a fight, and as fun as that could be sometimes, they didn't have the time. He made a note to search for that little tidbit later. Still, if his Other had prior experience with this kind of thing...
"Hey, Roxas-"
:No.:
"Fine. Stop giving me such a hard time, then."
:Still- it's just pretend, you know? You like that kind of game; all three of you do.:
Sora made a little noise of annoyance and, since he couldn't breathe in all the way, figured he'd tightened the laces enough. He tied a knot at the bottom.
"Yeah, we do, but this isn't a game." He grimaced and reached for the wadded up socks he'd brought in and stuck them in the corset cups, filling them out. He bravely ignored Roxas' renewed snickering.
***
Kairi slipped her feet into the loafers that completed the ensemble and watched Riku pound on the bathroom door.
"C'mon, Sora, we're gonna be late. We've got to meet the Prince's cousin at Sycamore Grove in fifteen minutes."
So long as Sora had gotten dressed and his makeup hadn't gotten mussed, they should be ready. It was a simple matter of getting him to come out of the bathroom. The simple matter that had already taken five minutes.
Riku had his ear to the door, listening. He leaned away to speak at it.
"You can't look any worse than I do, Sora, c'mon."
He said something else Kairi couldn't hear.
"Sora," Riku said very calmly, "I have a Keyblade and I'm not afraid to use it."
Kairi choked back a laugh as Sora groaned loudly and the door finally opened. He stood framed by the archway and the light of the bathroom.
Kairi squeaked much as she had in the costume store. Riku couldn't pull off being female, but Sora could.
He was very convincing.
Kairi had known what a pretty girl she'd made him into using cosmetics, but the dress had made him into not-Sora as effectively as her costume made her not-Kairi. He looked utterly transformed. It was strange to see him but not see Sora, but the knowledge that it was actually him in there... Kairi felt the muscles low in her body start to clench. In her heart, Namine was blushing. Kairi very sternly told everything to cut that out. In response, Namine giggled.
It wasn't easy. Between the floor-length gown, gloves that went from fingertip to elbow, the pumps she knew he was wearing and the delicate faux tiara half swallowed by his spiky hair, Sora looked the part of Princess more than he probably wished he did.
Kairi glanced at Riku and looked at him with the same eyes- eyes that knew what was and what wasn't, and appreciated the long, muscled calves, which seemed longer by the high-heeled sandals he wore. She lingered over the slim waist and flat stomach that was clearly visible between the halter top and mini-skirt. Broad, bare shoulders accentuated by the fabric that draped over his chest. She eyed his long silver hair and its contrast with the darker silver of his outfit.
:Kairi. Kairi, we're drooling.:
She licked her lips and caught Riku's expression, which was dumbfounded. Despite the makeup, blank amazement was a good look on him, but one that made her worry.
"Oh fuck," he breathed, staring at Sora, "you look like Queen Minnie."
Sora blinked. His eyes went wide and he looked even cuter that way. He blushed and glared at Riku, then blushed some more.
Kairi lost it.
Sora glared at her too.
Riku got his brain back slowly as Sora moved his weight from foot to foot and Kairi proceeded to double over and laugh herself sick. He was right. The cut and ornamentation of the dress, not to mention color, were all favored, and frequently worn, by the mouse Queen. Kairi laughed so hard she slid to the floor and had to lean against the foot of the bed to keep upright.
"The shoes hurt," Sora grumbled.
"Bitch, bitch, bitch," Riku answered. "My heels are higher. C'mon, we're gonna be late." They snagged the little purses Kairi had packed for them, Sora with a deep sigh, and Riku approached Kairi, who was still laughing.
"No-" she giggled, "no, put me down- I can walk."
"Whatever."
He carried her out the door, both arms clasped around her legs- chest leaning against his shoulder. Sora trailed after them, closing the hotel room door and pouting cutely at Kairi.
:We're not being all that gracious, you know.:
"I'm sorry-" she gasped, both to Sora and her Other. "I'm imagining you with ears-"
Riku snorted, and Sora appeared to be grinning in spite of himself. Riku tossed her- almost literally- into the back seat of their car. Then he opened the door and bowed Sora in like a footman.
"Just you wait- I'll have my revenge," he said, smiling now as he climbed in- with some difficulty.
"Yeah, like I haven't heard that one before." Riku closed the door and got in the driver's seat.
"It's not fair, you know."
Kairi was still grinning. "What's not?"
"Using a spell to change yourself into a man," Sora said. His tone was light, but he didn't look like he was teasing.
It set Kairi off again. She could only shake her head and continue laughing.
"She didn't use a spell." Riku's eyes could be heard rolling all the way in the back seat.
"If she didn't use a spell, where did her boobs go? They're too big to be hidden under that shirt."
Kairi only laughed harder.
Riku tossed a grin over his shoulder. "It's kind of amazing how you can turn something that tactless into a compliment."
Sora nodded gravely. "Thank you."
"I have my ways," Kairi finally answered, waggling her fingers at him. "I promise, after the party, I'll show you."
"Oooh," he leered playfully, and wow did that look wrong... and hot. "Can I take it all off?"
"Oh, you know it, baby."
"Your costume too?"
***
"Should we drive right into the sand?" Riku murmured. They'd gotten to Sycamore Grove just after the fireworks- which were easily visible all across the night sky. Obviously when the Capulets did a party, they went a little further than food and dance.
"They did," Kairi said, pointing.
Riku turned the convertible easily onto the sand and approached the hollowed-out theater. The collection of costumed young men watched them, and called out greetings as they approached.
"Our fair guests from abroad at last see fit to grace us with their presence!"
"Yeah," Riku called out, "sorry about that. The princess," he tossed a thumb over his shoulder, "wouldn't get out of the bathroom." Sora's satin-gloved hand slapped him upside the head. Riku only smirked in response.
"Ooh, the lady chastens thee."
"Mercutio?" Kairi spoke in a lower octave, smiling at the newcomer.
"Tis I," and he approached the car in a strut, white curls on his wig bobbing with every step. He blinked at Riku, looked him up and down, smiled again. "Hello, twin."
***
After a few introductions and Mercutio handing over an invitation, they were back on the road.
"Was it just me, or did the blond in the knight costume look a little dazed?" Kairi murmured.
"Why do you think I told you not to take the 'mint' he offered you?" Riku calmly turned the car, following Mercutio's down the busy street.
"Are we sure we can trust these guys?" Sora picked at the edge of his glove.
"They're not exactly dark. At least- no more than anyone else in this town. That redhead was Benvolio."
"Oh," Sora groaned, "wonderful. He's a Montague," he told Kairi's confused expression. She blinked, paused a moment, then looked slightly ill.
"It's likely they all are," Riku said, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel.
"We picked a fine group to hang around with."
"So we'll... just split up inside," Kairi suggested. "Everyone comes to this type of party, it should be easy." They turned onto a private driveway and progressed slowly through enormous iron-wrought gates. Inside were lighted palm trees and brightly colored neon, and beyond them, an enormous mansion. Kairi raised her eyebrows. "Really easy."
***
Not as easy as they would have hoped, Kairi mused, watching as Riku tried again to slip away from Mercutio, who wanted to make a spectacle by dancing with his 'twin'. Well, at least he hadn't been offended by the similarity of their costumes.
Kairi shook her head and turned to continue the search. Somewhere in this building was a person she needed to find. If she could just talk with her- convince her to take action, she was sure she could help the state of this world.
She wasn't the only Princess of Heart in this ballroom.
***
Sora took nice little steps, swishing his hips as he'd seen Kairi do when she was teasing. He figured that over-the-top was just about right in his current behavior. He knew he was getting attention- a lot more attention than he got as a guy, anyway.
:Not really.:
Huh?
:You just don't notice it when you're a guy.:
Right.
:I'm serious. Ask Kairi or Riku how often you get ogled. They'll tell you.:
That's not something I even wanna think about... ever.
Roxas subsided at that, and his resignation was amused, instead of rebuking. It made Sora smile a bit.
His feet were killing him, but he could ignore it. It was a little like having to fight with a wound when you were out of potions. It wasn't life-threatening, and he'd be fine. He could work through it. But maybe it would be a good idea to avoid stepping on other people's feet.
"Hold-"
"Oh sh-sorry! I'm so very sorry," and even surprised, he managed to keep his voice at the feminine pitch he'd adopted for the night. The offended party, a dark-haired man in a suit and devil horns, glared- until he turned fully and caught a glimpse of Sora's face. The anger melted too quickly to be trusted and he smiled.
"Fair lady, the fault lies entirely with my feet."
Oh holy shit, he's coming on to me.
At the back of his mind, Roxas laughed.
***
"Finally," Riku gasped as he took the glass of punch Kairi offered.
She grinned. "You're lucky he didn't want you in the musical production."
"He did, but I managed to get away." He took a drink. "This is spiked."
Kairi blinked. "It is? Hey-"
Riku stole her glass as he knocked back the rest of his own. "You're not legal yet." He drank Kairi's.
"Neither are you!"
"On my way over here," he said very calmly, "three men asked me to dance." Riku set down one glass and reached for the ladle. "This is medicinal."
"Yeah, sure. The women here aren't that forward. They just give me significant glances and pout when I don't walk up to them," she murmured, glancing around.
"You know," Riku said after his third- and last, as Kairi pulled him away from the bowl- cup of punch, "It's not the dress that bugs me so much as it is us."
"What us?"
"Us us- not here as a group, us. We're kind of undercover, but I want to go up to that guy dancing with Sora and..."
They both looked, watched the young buck's hand on Sora's waist creep steadily lower. The outfit wasn't quite as funny now.
"Punch him?" Kairi suggested in a tone of voice that was more than a bit approving.
"Punch him, cut him into little pieces with the Keyblade, something like that."
"You know," Kairi smirked, looking sideways at Riku, "you're very attractive when you're jealous... and dressed as a woman."
Riku snorted, but he smiled for her.
"Hey cutie," Kairi said, dropping her voice even lower, "you wanna dance?" He batted his eyelashes, uttered a mocking high-pitched giggle and took her offered hand. They stepped out onto the floor.
"Young hearts,
run free,
don't ever be hung up,
strung up like my man and me-
***
"Cousin, what beauty dost thou bring before me?"
Sora stood beside Tybalt, trying to ignore his throbbing feet, and flinched at the touch of a hand on his. An older gentleman, stocky and rather large around the midsection, smiled at him. Thick fingers caught and raised his hand, then kissed the back of his glove.
Ew.
He managed a smile and hoped he looked shy, rather than disgusted. Tybalt smiled and it looked more like baring teeth.
"Sora, my cousin, Lord Capulet."
He looked at Tybalt, then quickly back at the lord of the house. "Your, I-it's an honor," he managed with minimal stuttering.
He was so screwed.
***
Kairi blinked at a sudden, peculiar warmth on her skin. She turned quickly, looking for the source.
"Shit..." Riku had his foot raised daintily off the floor and was staring at his shoe, "I think the strap is breaking."
"Horrors," she smirked, still looking. "You'll have to walk around in broken pumps. At least no one knows us here."
"Ha ha. I have a new appreciation for your ability to wear high heels."
She laughed. Riku looked resigned and lowered his foot. He looked up. "...Shit."
"What, it is breaking?"
"Is that Aerith?"
"What? Where?"
He jerked his chin in the appropriate direction, not wanting to point and draw attention to himself. "The girl in the angel wings... approaching Sora."
Kairi saw her and groaned. How could it be Aerith? She never traveled off-world anymore. "Damnit we should have slicked down his hair, she might not have recognized him then."
"The gel has not been created that can slick down Sora's hair," Riku pointed out, patting her shoulder.
They watched, grimacing, but trying not to stare too hard, as Sora and is-that-Aerith were introduced. Sora looked briefly stunned, then smiled back at the young woman.
"Well that's hopeful," Riku muttered. No obvious recognition. Maybe the girl was simply a look-alike. It wasn't impossible that people on other worlds resembled each other. For example- that mission with all the silver haired men who found Riku way too interesting.
He preferred not to spend much time remembering that one.
Riku glanced down when Kairi said nothing, saw her staring with all of Sora's initial astonishment.
"That's her," she murmured.
"Who her?"
"Her her. She's the Princess."
Riku looked up again, really looked, and saw it. The girl shone without benefit of ballroom lights or the reflection on her white dress- she was beautiful in a way that didn't take into account her pretty face or graceful movements. She glowed from within, as if her heart was so bright that it couldn't help but show itself off, even nestled deep inside.
Just like Kairi.
"Well good," Riku said briskly, "let's go introduce ourselves."
"No!" Kairi grabbed him back to her side, "We can't just walk up to important people- Capulet people, during a party. They have to notice us."
He looked at her, looked back at the little gathering- an older gentleman in an purple toga, what looked like his wife, dressed in glittering gold and a heavy-looking crown. With them were Sora and the devil-guy almost groping him, the angel, and some guy in a puffy white suit who seemed to be trying- and failing- to get the angel's attention.
"...Oh shit, those are the Capulets. Sora's with the Prince of Cats."
"Do you think he-"
"He saw the newspapers too, I'm sure he knows."
"Well... I guess it makes sense. She's probably the closest thing this world has to royalty- you know, princess by title."
"...Okay, here's what you're going to do," Riku said, taking charge.
"Okay?"
"Walk over there and let Sora notice you."
"...That's it?"
"That's it."
Kairi didn't look like she trusted this plan. "We don't want to make these people angry, Riku. It'll be easier to talk to the girl if her family isn't pissed at us. I think Tybalt will get very pissed if I rush up and say, 'Hey you, get your damn hands off my boyfriend.'"
"I never said to do that, although I'm sure you'd surprise the hell out of him."
"Riku."
"Who's the sensible one here, you or me?" Riku said, quirking an eyebrow.
"I-"
He covered her shoulders with his large hands and smiled. "Calm down. Breathe."
She did that.
"Now go over and don't say anything- just let Sora react. Trust me."
Kairi sighed and nodded. Riku kissed her on the forehead- then cleaned off the lipstick he'd left. She smiled at his serious expression- the tenderness very few people got to see- the makeup that no one had ever seen. Riku met her gaze and Kairi felt her face heat at the warmth in his eyes. She took his hand.
Riku grinned. "Get out of here before I get more lipstick on you."
Kairi smiled and kissed his hand.
***
He saw the familiar redhead walking by, slowly, causally, and took the opportunity presented.
"Kairi!" Sora called. He raised the hand Lord Capulet had been stroking and waved enthusiastically. He also slipped away as Tybalt would have closed into the gap left by his uncle and slipped his hand into his girlfriend's arm.
"My lords and ladies," he said, curtseying, "I would like to introduce my dear," a very brief pause, "cousin. He escorted me to the ball, then left me to dance with someone else." Sora felt his aggrieved tone was a very good touch.
Kairi fell into the story as easily as if they'd worked it out beforehand. "I didn't want it to seem as if you were unavailable, cousin," she murmured, smiling pleasantly. "I see you've managed to attract a very worthy admirer." She nodded to Tybalt, who was starting to relax slightly. They seemed to be buying the 'relatives' story.
Sora made introductions and Kairi bowed or kissed hands as was appropriate. She smiled as she took the Princess' hand.
"Lady Juliet," she murmured.
She did look like a younger Aerith, Kairi decided. Her eyes were more hazel than green, but the resemblance was quite strong, even close up. Juliet squeezed her hand, smiling politely back, and her eyes filled up with some secret knowledge and Kairi knew Juliet had figured it out.
She looked at Kairi, then at Sora, and back again. Her smile deepened.
"You must give your cousin a dance," she said impishly. "After so rudely taking your leave, it is only fitting."
"That's right!" Sora chimed in.
Not only did Kairi think Juliet had figured out some of what was going on- she was helping them. The other Capulets seemed amused or annoyed- but Lady Capulet had seemed annoyed since Kairi got there.
"My orders are clear," Kairi smiled. "My Lords and Ladies," she bowed and led Sora out to the dance floor.
"Cripe, it took you long enough," was the first thing he said. His smile never wavered. "The dad was about to start groping me."
They bowed to each other and Kairi tried not to laugh. She reached for him- fumbled briefly before she remembered she was supposed to lead.
"Seems like you're doing just fine as a princess," she murmured warmly.
He smiled, but leaned close. "These shoes are twisting my feet out of their normal shape."
She smiled sweetly. "I love you!" her tone was ever so slightly mocking.
"You damn well better!" They danced for a while, carefully, and it was easier for Sora, who'd taken lessons from Riku at one point- and had experience in following. "So what's our next step?" he asked.
Kairi grinned. "When we're done out here, you go back and say you have to go to the bathroom to freshen up. Ask Juliet to show you where it is. I'll meet you both over there."
"Sounds good to me- except for the part where I'll eventually have to come out again."
"Well no plan is perfect."
***
Riku blinked as a familiar blond staggered into him, then backed up a step and tried to look at him- swayed dangerously to the side. Riku caught him by the arm.
"Romeo?"
The kid looked ready to vomit. Riku hadn't drawn any attention to them by saying the young man's name- thankfully- but that wasn't worth much if the Montague heir lost his lunch in the middle of the Capulet ballroom. Romeo must have recognized him at least a little, and didn't put up a fight when Riku put an arm around his shoulders and started to lead.
"Okay, let's get you to the bathroom."
On the way, he grumbled about Montagues who didn't watch out for their friends and put them in bad situations in the first place. They got to the doors and the servant who stood oh-so-helpfully in front to open them. Romeo saw the open door and bolted for the cool comfort of the porcelain god. Riku shook his head and moved to follow- only to be stopped by the servant's hand.
"My humblest apologies, milady."
"...You're joking, right?"
***
Sora wiggled his feet and smiled. It wasn't just a row of enclosed toilets that they'd stumbled into for this meeting (although there was one)- it was a full service bathroom with bottles of shampoo, lotions, scented soaps, a shower stall, a Jacuzzi bathtub- which Juliet had kindly turned on and Sora, skirt pulled up around his knees, had put his feet into.
Kairi grinned at him briefly and Juliet smiled at one, then the other, before continuing their conversation.
It was somewhat mystical. Sora could have followed it if he wanted- stuff about following one's heart, using your instincts, things Juliet had been doing all her life- but she now realized were somewhat stronger feelings than other people had, but he couldn't be bothered. The water felt too good.
By the time their conversation had wound down, Sora felt like he had feet again, instead of throbbing lumps of flesh at the end of his legs.
The door opened and they looked up-
"Riku!" Kairi grinned.
Riku looked indignant. "How did you get in the wrong bathroom and I didn't?" he said, putting his hands on his hips and mock-glaring at Kairi.
Juliet smiled and gave a little finger wave. Riku bowed and Kairi introduced them.
"I don't want to offend anyone," he said, crossing the room, "but I can't hold it any longer and that guy outside wouldn't let me into the men's room." With that, he entered the stall and closed the door.
Juliet grinned. "I shall take my leave," she said, ducking her head. "But, I should like to talk with thee again, Kairi."
"Absolutely!" she took the other girl's hand, squeezed it warmly. "We're staying at the Stratford Hotel. Room 118."
"I may send another with time or place, but thou shalt know me as messenger."
"Okay."
They embraced, kissed each other on the cheek, and Juliet gave Sora a parting smile. He waved goodbye.
"Thanks again!"
The door closed and there was silence. Then the sound of someone urinating. Sora glanced at Kairi, Kairi at Sora. They both smirked. Riku had been waiting for Juliet to leave.
Kairi smiled and climbed onto the shelf into which the tub had been built. She knelt by Sora and kissed him.
"Mmm- hello," he grinned.
"Thank you."
He kissed her. "You don't have to thank me."
"You can thank me," Riku said, coming out of the stall and going to the sink. He turned on the water and began washing his hands. "I won't turn down some thanks."
"Thank you for wearing a dress, Riku!" Kairi said cheerfully.
Sora swished his feet back and forth through the warm water, and frowned. "So we did what we came to do... I really don't want to go back out there." He gave Kairi big eyes. "Do I have to go back out there?"
She smirked. "Well, eventually we're going to have to leave."
"Yeah but... how about hiding in here long enough for other people to start leaving, and we'll sneak out with the crowd?"
Kairi looked at Riku. Riku smiled. "Every other plan he's had tonight has worked. This one sounds fine."
"What are we going to do until then? Watch the fish?” Kairi suggested, pointing at the fish tank that was the wall on one side of the room.
Sora looked at Kairi, narrowed his eyes and smiled. "Well... you did say I could figure out how you fit into that outfit."
Kairi's grin turned downright naughty and Riku smirked. Bathroom sex... bathroom sex in the Capulet mansion, with the Montagues running rampant outside and while they were all wearing rented costumes. Sora wasn't feeling too affectionate towards either family right now, and they'd damn well paid enough to buy the costumes. They looked at each other- dressed in the wrong clothes, which didn't seem like the wrong clothes now that they were alone....
"I'll just lock the door," Riku murmured, turning. "Keep us from having any unexpected visitors."
Kairi slid away from the tub, smiling archly at Sora. He drew his feet out of the bath and scooted after her. She pulled off the jacket and set it on a plush chair against the wall. The jacket was followed by the tie, her hat- which hadn’t moved all night- and then she gave him a ‘come hither’ smile as she reached for the buttons.
A beam of light shone briefly near the door, followed by a loud click. Riku smirked to himself as he approached them, spinning Way to the Dawn once in his hand before putting it away.
Sora grinned, then softened it into something less silly and more longing. He reached for the buttons and they kissed. Kairi touched his face, felt powder and makeup and smiled against his lips before threading her fingers into his hair and more familiar textures. He felt Riku move behind him, rest warm, heavy hands on his hips. Kairi moved closer, Sora moved them both back toward Riku and he felt his lover’s cock, hard and ready, even through the all the layers of his skirt.
“I thought I looked like Queen Minnie,” Sora murmured. Kairi chuckled into his shoulder and nibbled on his collarbone. Riku leaned close, breath hot upon his ear.
“Not really. I just said it to mess with your head.”
“Well good,” Sora slid the tails of Kairi’s shirt out of her pants a centimeter at a time, “some things are just too kinky.”
“If Riku has those kinds of fantasies, I’ll wear the ears,” Kairi purred as Sora left the shirt un-tucked, hanging on her arms, and pushed up the t-shirt.
“No,” Riku murmured, “I really don’t.” He bunched the skirt of Sora’s dress in his hands and started to gather it upward. “But maybe I should spank you for suggesting that.”
“I’ll take my punishment like a man,” he answered- and figured out the riddle at last. Sora found the edge of the cloth Kairi had used and unhooked it, then unwound the soft material. Kairi sighed, and the sound made him harder. He leaned forward and kissed her breasts, wrapping his lips around abused flesh that had been white and quickly turned red as circulation returned.
“Kairi,” Riku said, his voice still soft, deep, “sit down.”
She lowered herself right where she stood, found the chair close behind her and perched on the edge- sitting on the suit jacket. She leaned back to give Sora better access to her chest. He followed her down, kissing, sucking, eventually working his way down to the waistband of her pants. He groaned as Riku was still behind him- still pulling his skirt up just a bit at a time, finally setting his hands beneath it and cupping, stroking.
“You are a naughty girl, aren’t you?” Riku murmured into his ear. “No panties?”
“I’d like to call it optimistic... and the corset was uncomfortable enough,” he said, tilting his head to look at Riku over his shoulder. Kairi breathed a laugh and looked at them, her eyes heavy-lidded.
“Riku,” she said, with just a bit of a whine, “Sora stopped doing nice things to me.”
They both chuckled and Sora kneeled before her. “Patience is a virtue,” he sing-songed.
“I’ll remember you said that,” and Riku shifted his hands.
Sora groaned- this time in aggravation, and opened Kairi’s fly. Riku chuckled at him and rewarded the progress by trailing a finger- already slick and warm- between his buttocks. He groaned again, wrapping his fingers around the waistband of Kairi’s pants and tugging gently down. She lifted out of the chair to help him.
“Where did you get lube?” he asked as Riku began to thrust slowly, stretching him.
Kairi exhaled and said, shakily, “You have no idea how you two look right now.”
Sora managed to smirk at her, pleased and distracted and held her gaze as he leaned in to kiss below her navel. Riku said something about Kairi doing a good job at stocking those purses and he smiled, pulling down trousers, then panties, and proceeded to show his appreciation.

The servants didn’t know how the ladies’ bathroom had managed to lock, and in fact, lose its keyhole as if there had never been one.
The party was nearly done in any case, and they directed any women seeking release to the upstairs water closet.
The gentlemen who made a trip inside glanced curiously at the fish tank, but were more interested in the party than watching aquatic life.
Had they taken a closer look, and found one of the larger gaps in the lower section of the tank, they might have seen quite a spectacle indeed.
Happily, even if someone had- no one knew them on this world.
