Summary: Raidou tries a new way to build trust.
A/N: Right. I'm working with SMT:Nocturne's Raksasha-type, because I'm not that far into Devil Summoner. If the design is radically different, I apologize.
Trust
Raidou had acquired Raksasha almost a week ago. Battle upon battle they fought together, yet the trust between them had faltered, left stunted for no reason Raidou could discern.
Finally, the devil summoner had decided to try something new; if confronting opponents didn't work, maybe they needed to confront each other. So here they stood, face to face.
Raidou looked at his demon. Raksasha didn’t look all that strange. Then again, thinking that something split open from nose to groin “didn’t look that strange” could simply be a sign he needed to spend more time around humans.
Raksasha’s hand lifted slowly, cautiously. Raidou didn’t object as small claws drew feather-light over his jaw.
It seemed Raksasha was… curious. It shouldn’t have been surprising, really, but then he spent so much time around his demons that to him they were familiar, some even beautiful. It seemed strange that he might be alien to them.
Raksasha’s mostly-fused hands were exploring his chest now, small claws catching on his thick wool overcoat.
“Don’t get too curious,” Raidou cautioned, half-amused and half-serious; delicate as those claws seemed, Raksasha was quite capable of opening his ribcage with a single swipe.
Hands falling back down, Rakshasa’s head tilted in invitation, reinforced by the ribs fluttering open slightly. Tugging off a glove, Raidou explored his demon in return, feeling the hard, smooth enamel on the small teeth in the upper jaw, as well as on the rib-teeth.
Fingers strayed down to the base of the moving ribs, brushing gently over the soft flesh on the inside of the ‘mouth’. Raksasha’s staring yellow eyes drifted shut to a quiet rumble.
It wasn’t quite purring, but it amounted to the same thing. Raidou almost grinned. He could get used to this way of building trust.

Date: 2007-10-06 06:44 am (UTC)It gives my prompt much more sense doesn't it? :D
This was nonetheless an interesting read with an even more alien-looking Raksasha. Thanks!

Date: 2007-10-07 08:12 pm (UTC)Oooo, he's pretty in Devil Summoner. *g* Though it's probably a sign that *I* need to spend more time around humans that I think the Nocturne version is also pretty. XD;
