Redemption
"Give me a reason to believe! If this is what you want then fire at will!"
Vergil stares at this brother and scoffs, “Dante… You should have never came here to hell.” He doesn’t move; the phantom swords that surround his brother do not budge. They are frozen. Vergil is frozen. No matter how many times he had tried, Vergil cannot kill his brother. He curses his mother, his humanity; everything. Shaking his head, Vergil steps forward.
His brother glares at him and Vergil knows that if he does not act now, he never will. It is because of that he hesitates. Killing Dante would accomplish nothing, yet it would give Vergil everything. All he needs to do is lower his arm and let his power strike his weakened brother. There was nothing more simple than that.
“Foolishness, Dante. Foolishness,” he speaks out after a moment of silence, moving closer, “You should have never came here.” Vergil reaches out and grasps tightly on the lapels of Dante’s bright red, blood-soaked trench coat. He pulls his brother closer to him and kisses him hard.
The blades surge forward, impaling them both.
Vergil closes his eyes and waits for death.
It’s redemption.
