Title: A new twist to an old song.
Author:
dancevdragon
Rating: R
Warnings: Nudity, mild violence, swearing, and includes a kiss.
Word count: 634 words.
Prompt/Summary: Bathing - "It took a lot of work to get Kanda to act human, but it was worth the bruises."
Pairing: Kanda/Rabi or Rabi/Kanda you could see it either way.
Notes: I'm sorry its late.
Rabi had learned several things in the time he spent in the Black Order. Allen Walker would certainly bite you if you tried to take his food. Rinali would not find it funny if you mentioned maybe if her brother got married he wouldn’t be a spazz. But the most important thing was if you pushed and needled long enough, Kanda Yuu would give in. He was rather proud that he, and he alone knew this fact. Most people stopped pressing when the death threats started flying, or in Allen’s case, swing their fist.
He whistled casually as he leaned back in the bath and stared at the ceiling for a moment. “Stop that.” Kanda hissed from his side of the tub, he was peering over the edge as if it would provide him with a means of escape. It was too bad for him that Rabi would haul him back in the tub if he even attempted it. “Why should I? It’s not harming anyone. I do this all the time when I bathe. No one else has complained.” He smiled casually before splashing the other with a bit of water.
He expected the kick and ignored the slight stinging pain to keep on whistling. “If you want me to stop,” He almost sing songed his words while twirling his index finger just out of the water. “You’re going to have to make m-HEY!” The swordsman cut him off in mid snicker as he lunged for his throat. He cursed and fought, while trying to grab Kanda’s thin wrists.
“Yuuuuu, don’t be so meannnnn.” He whined perfectly, putting just enough into it that he got a scowl for his trouble. Rabi knew better than to do it again, Kanda wasn’t above head butting anyone. Last time, he’d seen stars for what felt like days. That wasn’t nearly half as bad as that one time he made a fatal mistake and pinned the smaller exorcist. He thought only animals’ bit people when they were cornered.
Despite all the cuts, bites, bruises, and headaches; he wasn’t put off at all. Kanda was a challenge, just like Allen was. Neither of them showed exactly what they were on the surface. He always had to dig to get the truth out of either of them. The elder one was more a subject of study than the younger one for the moment. He ducked a swipe and came up at the right time, pinning Kanda’s wrists to the sides of the tub. “Geeze, calm down. It’s just sound.”
He almost resumed whistling but one murderous look warned him against it. Kanda certainly wasn’t giving up, and he wasn’t going too. Rabi had done this hundreds of times. It was a fight that got more water on the floor than a five year old could. He was sick of the other’s stubborn determination and that pride that never quit. So he did something entirely unexpected that could get him killed. He kissed Kanda.
Kanda’s eyes widened in shock, as his hands automatically latched onto the sides of the bathtub. The foot that had been about to resume kicking at Rabi, froze in mid-attack. He had no idea how to respond to this new addition to their routine. It did reaffirm his opinion that Rabi was completely and utterly mad. But that was pretty much it, until Rabi let go of his wrists.
Then he was shoving the other away as quickly as possible, while hissing something neither of them could quite catch. For once, he was allowed to escape and he did so as quickly as possible. Rabi watched him go while he leaned back in the remaining water. It hadn’t gone as planned but, it had been worth it. For one moment, Kanda’s expression had been completely human.
