You know I am overwhelmed by your feedback, right? Even though I hate the idea of making anyone feel depressed about their own writing, because I know precisely how that feels. Alas. Also, and I probably should've said this first, someone with your own talents doesn't need to feel jealous!
But anyway, you really have a perfect grasp of the kind of thing I wanted to achieve. They do have a peculiar outlook on life, far more gruesome and violent than other people's, which is not to say they're casual about it, but it's part of who they are. I wanted to set that as the background to Hakkai and Gojyo as a couple, really just to see what would happen.
