Title: Just
Author:
misura
Rating: G
Warnings: None.
Summary: There comes a time in every girl's afterlife that she wants to cry her eyes out.
A/N: A drabble.
"Look, peanut," said Rube, in his tired 'I wish I could just write you a post-it' voice which somehow still managed to make her feel that tiniest bit better, "it's like this. A lot of the time, bad things happen to good people. That's just fate. Or bad luck, if you'd rather think of it that way."
" 's not fair." Muffled, because damn, her make-up was probably all over her face by now and how unfair was that? Once you were dead, you should at least be able to stop having to worry about things like your face turning into a mess just because you'd been crying a little.
"Maybe not," Rube agreed easily. "But hey, you know, sometimes bad things happen to bad people."
" 's that called?"
"Well," said Rube. "Personally, I think of it as a coincidence."
