She was so beautiful in the morning, when the first ray of dawn kissed her just so. She was beautiful anytime of the day, of course, but seeing her first thing in the morning will always have a special spot in his heart, his treasure. She might laugh at him if he had ever confided this little pleasure of his to her, but that was okay too. There was nothing she could do that would not make him love her just a little more.
Still feels like a dream, waking up beside her, and he was convinced that no matter how much time passes and how many time he does it, it would still feels like a dream every time.
Even the fiftieth, hundredth, or thousandth time, it would still feel like the first.
He wondered if, eventually, he would wake up beside her and not be overcome with the euphoria of seeing her beside him, sharing warmth. Wondered if his heart would cease jumping like happy frogs as she snuggle closer to him. Wondered if his lips would stop turning up into a wide smile to hear her slow measured breathing and steady heartbeat. He didn’t think it would, and if it was possible he didn’t think it would happen until they were both old and grey and half-blind with age, and probably not even then.
To be honest, he hoped the time will never come. He’d waited for her for a long time, wished so hard and so fervently, had fought to keep this hope even in the darkest storm. He loves her so much, he would never want for anything else than having her in his arms. He’d never thought he would ever get what he wants, and he was prepared to love her from afar the rest of his life. It was a lifelong wish fulfilled, and if this joy should never fade, he thought he deserves that much.
