I really wanted to show Cid as having problems as well: his snappishness and bad temper in the game made me think that he might have had PTSD, since those are symptoms. It also jived wth the fanon interpretation that he probably fought for Shinra in the Wutai War. I'm glad people are picking up on Cid suffering the same thing as Vincent, if in a different way.
