Sympathetic [Bones, Booth/Bones, PG-13]
Jun. 27th, 2008 05:03 pmTitle: Sympathetic
Author:
misura
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None, really.
Summary: The problem was, Angela knew, that Brennan never played games.
A/N: A drabblet, only three days late. *cough*
"Honey," said Angela, "I'm happy for you and all - and, all right, maybe also a little jealous - but do you think the two of you might go and exchange hot, smouldering looks somewhere else? I'm trying to work here and, frankly, it's a little distracting. Kind of like a really good romantic movie; it's fun to watch and all, only you can't watch and get anything else done at the same time, or at least, I can't."
Brennan blinked. "What looks? I don't know what you're talking about - I mean, I'm working and obviously Booth is here to work, so we both have professional reasons to be here that have got nothing to do with the fact that we're also in a non-professional relationship."
"Oh." Angela glanced at Booth, who seemed consumed with interest for a report of some kind. "I see. Well, that's fine then." She turned her interest at Booth again, who happened to look up at just that moment.
"I think I'm going to ask Zack to take a look at this," Brennan said from behind her, before walking away.
"For what it's worth," Angela told Booth, "you have my sympathy. Oh, and that report you're holding might make a little more sense if you'd hold it the right side up. Just a tip."
