"If either for a loveless marriage or for an unrequited love, remember to bleed. The only thing that will be the same is pain."

Belial. The Mad Hatter. The Mad Butterfly. Like a devil, she had many names, and only Lucifer was allowed to call her by the first one. To Kurai, she was the Mad Hatter, although Belial would probably say that insanity was relative.

"If the one I loved fell in love with me, I would no longer love him. Princess, would the same be true of you?"

Kurai had accepted that she would never have an answer to that question. The one she loved only had eyes for someone else.

"Princess, this body is yours, and yours alone. When you feel lost, hurt yourself. You cannot feel pain if you're insane, after all."

Kurai's hand went up the side of her neck. Even after all this time had passed, she still felt the string of Belial's teeth.

"Princess, every time you feel pain, I'd be flattered if you would think of me."
