Irvine Kinneas always had an eye for beautiful women. Let's face it, he had an eye for women, period. But this did not mean he did not occasionally notice an attractive guy. Beauty, however, did not always have to be on the outside and a challenge was something Irvine always felt more than up for.
Case in point: Squall Leonheart. How much more of a challenge was there than that? The man didn't want to talk to anyone. The best response you could get from him on most occasions was a "Whatever...". He was all but indifferent to almost everything. Irvine wondered whether there could even be a sex drive hidden under that cool exterior and ton of belts. So, a challenge set in his mind. If Squall wanted to play hard to get then Irvine would enjoy the chase even more.
Squall certainly didn't make it easy. All of Irvine's charm didn't seem to make any dent in that emotional armour in all the time they had travelled together. Of course Squall had other things on his mind then. So later, when the Sorceress had been vanquished, Irvine was finally able to pick up the challenge in earnest.
He followed Squall late one night into the SeeD training area. At first he suspected Squall had a secret rendezvous, though he would have been astounded if it had been true. Unsurprisingly, Irvine saw Squall standing and waiting, looking alertly around with his gunblade drawn, as if for the monsters that were within. Soon enough a scattering of Grats appeared, attacking Squall. Debating on whether to rush in and assist or not, Irvine saw that Squall had already finished them off before he'd even come to a decision. Obviously, he didn't need the help.
Strolling forward into view, Irvine tipped his hat at Squall and said: "Nice job."
Squall frowned at him. Irvine smiled back.
"What are you doing here?" Squall asked when it became clear the cowboy wasn’t going away anytime soon.
"I suppose I'm stalking more than training tonight," Irvine said, all chipper and flirtatious.
Squall continued to frown, not sure he was liking the signals he was picking up from Irvine. "What?"
Irvine winked and sauntered closer. "You're the prey I'm after tonight."
Squall's shoulders stiffened defensively. His grip tightened on his gunblade though he had no intentions of using it against Irvine.
Irvine circled around him, looking him up and down.
Squall stood his ground.
"You look very... pent up," Irvine noted. "I think you and I need to go somewhere to relax, don't you think?"
Squall grumbled something indecipherable. Irvine chuckled.
"C'mon. Stand down tonight, huh? Attack mode off. Do you ever just sit and relax?"
Squall holstered his gunblade but crossed his arms. "Do you ever take anything seriously?" He countered.
"Touché," Irvine chuckled again. "So I’ll be more serious when you come with me and relax."
To his surprise, Squall nodded.
"All right then," Irvine said cheerfully.
They walked back to the room that Irvine had temporarily been assigned for the duration of his stay at Garden. He chivalrously let Squall enter the room first, closing the door behind him. Once inside, Squall remained standing and Irvine had to encourage him to sit down. There wasn't much room and only one chair so the bed was the only other option. Squall sat on the edge, looking very out of place and that frown was back on his face.
"Relaaaaaaaax," Irvine said, sitting next to him.
Squall immediately stood up again.
"Aw, come on...," he patted the spot next to him. "I won’t bite, huh?"
After a pause, Squall sat down again. He lay his gunblade carefully to the side.
"You trust me, don't you? We've fought together. Life and death. All of that," Irvine began, watching Squall carefully now. He had him right where he wanted him and so didn't want to scare him away now when he was so close to the catch.
Squall simply made a non-committal sound. He was staring hard at the floor.
Irvine's hand reached out, hesitated then lightly brushed his fingers through Squall's hair. Squall flinched and finally looked at Irvine. The look in his eyes was mixed. There was also a despair there that he didn’t expect.
With a less cocky smile, more a sympathetic one this time, Irvine touched Squall's hair again, stroking it gently and he leaned toward the other man. If Squall pulled away he wouldn't have been surprised but Squall did not pull back, instead he leaned in when their lips met, kissing back with great urgency. Irvine went with it. He ran his tongue under Squall's top lip which elicited a sound of longing from Squall.
Encouraged, Irvine kissed deeper, feeling Squall giving in so very easily to this. The chase may have been long at first but now that they had caught up with each other things were progressing so quickly Irvine struggled to catch up.
He felt Squall's hands on his back, but Irvine was ready for more contact. He pushed at Squall's short jacket, feeling the slim, muscled chest under the light t-shirt. In a moment his fingers slipped underneath and touched skin, which earned him a moan from Squall. Squall himself hadn't tried to undress Irvine yet so Irvine took it upon himself to remove his own coat and vest then glanced to Squall, who broke eye contact after just a second.
Irvine briefly grinned and caressed Squall’s cheek. "You're not shy... You've never done this before have you?"
Squall remained silent.
"It's all right. I'll teach you," Irvine said smoothly, leaning across Squall to get him to lie back on the bed. There was little resistance but Squall had closed his eyes. For now, Irvine ignored that and went for those multiple belts. With some fiddling they came off and Irvine kept going, sliding down the tight leather pants. Freed from its bonds, Irvine could see how aroused Squall now was. He looked up. Squall still had his eyes closed and his breathing was shallow, almost as if was trying to calm down or hold his breath.
He wanted to get more of that urgent passion from Squall again so Irvine's hand wrapped around the erection. Squall uttered a restrained gasp. At least he hasn't run away, Irvine thought. Keeping up the attention with expert strokes, Irvine managed to remove his own trousers with one hand then replaced his hand with his lower body, rubbing them together.
Squall groaned and his hands finally found Irvine's skin. They ran down his back, exploring tentatively at first. Irvine kissed and sucked earnestly on Squall's neck, leaving a mark before moving back up to his lips, kissing eagerly. Squall arched up against him.
Ever prepared, Irvine was slicked and ready with a minimum of fuss, not disturbing Squall until he pushed between the other man's legs and Squall gasped loudly as Irvine slipped inside of him. He clutched tightly to Irvine, holding him close and gritting his teeth against the unusual feeling. He refused to admit it was uncomfortable at first because he had suddenly tensed up again.
"Relax," Irvine whispered to him between kisses and Squall tried to, noticing that the discomfort turned to a fuller feeling then one of pleasure as Irvine began moving an and out of him. Irvine seemed to know exactly what he was doing and for that Squall was silently glad. He had no idea himself and he felt safe in Irvine's hands, though he wouldn't admit that out loud.
Irvine felt Squall's body relax, taking him in further. "That’s right..," he murmured with a smile, as his movements quickened.
Squall's kisses became fevered, losing himself in Irvine's arms, their bodies rocking together now perfectly in sync. It wasn't much longer before Squall's body spasmed and he came with a wordless cry, shaking hard under Irvine. Taking Squall's mouth in a passionate kiss, Irvine drove forward and also came, his body jerking inside of Squall.
He panted as his senses returned, licking Squall's mouth before smiling down at him. Squall looked drained, his face flushed, his eyes half-lidded as he looked up at Irvine.
"We must do this again sometime," Irvine said jovially, carefully pulling out and collapsing next to Squall's body with a contented sigh.
The chase was over but there would be other chases.
