Dream A Little Dream [Harry Potter, Luna/Ginny, PG]
Title: Dream A Little Dream
Author/Artist:
sagemuraken
Rating: PG
Warnings: Implied girl/girl kissing
Prompt: Harry Potter, Luna/Ginny: a touch of the fae - Every now and then, Ginny had to flee the real world. Luna always let her in to her world, and then let her go afterwards.
Word count: 632
Sometimes, Ginny thought to herself, being human was a real trial.
In class she sighed aloud and nearby, Luna gave her foot a nudge. Looking over at the blonde girl, Ginny was surprised to see her wink. Unsure why, the wink made her blush slightly, her cheeks attempting to match her hair. A halo of sparkly words appeared around Luna's head, spelling out the words: MEET ME AFTER CLASS.
Blinking, the words were gone and Ginny silently questioned whether she had seen them at all. All the while, Luna smiled pacifically at her before both girls turned their attention back to the teacher.

Luna was not in Ginny's final class of the day so Ginny gathered her books up, dumped them unceremoniously on her bed in the Gryffindor girl's dorm and went in search of Luna.
Along the way, Ginny spotted a floating couple of lights that looked like tiny fireflies. Instinctively she followed them and they soon led her to the other girl. She gave Luna a smile and a short wave of greeting. "Hi," she suddenly felt shy, but kicked herself inwardly. What was up with her? She hadn't felt like this around someone for a few years now.
"Hello...," said Luna in her dreamy tones. "Come with me." She reached for Ginny's hand, which the redhead willingly took.
Leading them onwards, Luna was walking toward the Forbidden Forest. Ginny balked for an instant but steeled herself. If the Ravenclaw wasn't afraid, why should she be?
They didn't go very far into the forest but it still felt that they were in some remote area once surrounded by the dark trees.
"Close your eyes," Luna said in a sing-song voice, skipping as she led Ginny along. Trusting her, Ginny did so and suddenly she felt a warmth surrounding her. Startled she opened her eyes again to see that they were in a clearing now filled with a comforting light. She couldn't place its source. It was no spell that she was aware of.
"Luna, what-?" She began but the blonde girl put a finger to her own lips in a gesture of silence. She gestured to the side, letting go of Ginny's hand as she sat on a smooth rock shelf. It almost looked like a man-made bench but it clearly belonged there, set deep into the earth. Ginny sat, glancing at Luna then again at the light around them. It was still daylight, she knew, but here within the forest it was darker and seemed like evening already, if not for that glow.
"Close your eyes," said Luna again and as Ginny did so Luna kept talking. She spoke of the fae and of creatures that even wizards had no knowledge of but she knew they were out there somewhere. Sometimes, she said, they whispered to you when you were sleeping, as you dreamed.
Luna's voice lulled Ginny into an almost dreamlike state now. It was easy to believe at that moment with that mystical glow and this wondrous girl beside her that there were in fact such true unknown beings. She could all but see them dancing before her closed eyelids. She smiled and that's when she felt them - butterfly kisses on her cheeks. She opened her eyes to more wonders. The glow had changed into a million points of light - like tiny suns that indeed danced around the two girls. Luna laughed musically and threw her arms around Ginny who smiled and hugged her back. The afternoon passed by swiftly, accompanied by soft laughter and sighs.
*****
Returning to the dorm but she slept soundly that night, dreaming of Luna's kisses and when she awakened, back to reality, she had to wonder if that other world was just part of that sweet, fantastical dream.
