Prompt: Transformers (G1), Grimlock/any seeker: wing kink - Their wings were so different from Swoop's.
Summary: Grimlock muses on the Decepticons' Seekers.
Decepticon Seekers were, to quote one of his creators, fascinating. Many a time Grimlock observed them, hidden among shadows, trees or rocks, watching them dance in the sky; he was awed by their flexibility and grace.
Oh, of course, he hadn’t always seen them like that. At first, a flying Seeker was just a flying enemy to kill, crush and maim, not necessarily in that order. When he and his fellow Dinobots encountered them, they roared in defiance, seeking a good fight that they got about half of the time, depending on which Seeker they were fighting.
Flying wasn’t interesting. That is, it wasn’t until the Aerialbots and Swoop started to try to imitate them. And, in Swoop’s case, failing, leading him to be moody and sad, despite their (rather grudging) encouragements. And Grimlock didn’t like seeing Swoop sad; Swoop didn’t nuzzle with him when he was sad.
Seekers couldn’t be so good naturally. Somehow, they must have had a secret, and once Swoop learned it, he would fly as well as them. And so Grimlock tried to spy on the Decepticons’ air bound troops any time he could. And what had started as a 'simple' spying mission had turned into something more.
Now, he didn’t merely watch them to learn something he couldn’t care less about, but merely to enjoy the show.
They were really different from the Aerialbots, but Grimlock didn’t care much for them. Seekers were… better, he supposed, although he wouldn’t say it out loud. A mighty Dinobot didn’t show respect, albeit grudgingly, for anyone who wasn’t a Dinobot.
They had smoother bodies, for one. And their wings were so different from Swoop's… He wondered what they would feel like under his hands, how much they could really move, how sensitive they really were to touch. They looked so thin compared to Swoop’s, so small and fragile. He bet he could break one without even trying, but somehow, it was very enthralling.
He wondered how long it would take to overload one only by touching and petting his wings. But he knew he had few chances to test his theories on the question, for he couldn’t touch them except in battle, and he was more focused on causing damage than trying to find a berth partner in those cases.
So he could only watch them mournfully from a distance, just dreaming of something he just couldn’t have as his own. But someday, just someday, he knew deep down that he would…
