Title: Not Entirely Her Own (working title)
Author:
kawaiigami
Rating: Eventual PG-13/R
Warnings: AU with name changes (so far)
Word Count: 172
Summary: Niamh was once Namine.
Prompt: Jun. 29--Kingdom Hearts: Axel/Namine: stripping- Since the first time they met she had been trying to warm herself against him
A/N: To the prompter: I am so sorry, hon! D: D: My brain and the story would NOT settle down for more than this. >_< So much for marathon writing.
General: There's a long story behind this story, which will be covered in more extensive author's notes when it is finished. For now, here is the intro/preview, which I hope you enjoy enough to come back.
They linked together, sometimes forming a straight line, other times a messy web as they connected to each other and links in others’ chains. Even one person’s individual memories created a confusing mess, as she had discovered when examining Sora’s to find the key memories she had to replace in order to draw him to her.
At least his memories were all his own.
Niamh thought of memories as a chain, too, but not one made of a single metal. Only able to know her own, she thought of it as being made of an alloy, created from the chain that had been solely hers up until she turned fifteen, and Namine’s. Because instead of being stripped away easily like gilt, the memories of her past life were fused with those of the present, like two metals forming one.
She just wished she knew if that made her chain--and the heart it was housed in--stronger, or weaker.

Date: 2009-06-30 12:23 pm (UTC)The mixed metals thing became around because, when tired, my brain's logic goes "Hmmm, chains of memories. Chains are metal. Now, if you had two people's memories merging, wouldn't that be like two metals forming an alloy to make the chain." Or something like that.
Yeah, I'm hoping things will calm down.
