A fabulous person by the name of
galerian_ash *g* had the wonderful idea of getting feedback from writers and artists interested in participating in
springkink but sadly have never run across fandoms or pairings that appeal to them or stir their muses.
So, for my writers and artists, what would you love to see show up on the prompt list? Is there a fandom or pairing that you haven't tackled before but would to do so as part of this round? Are you currently obsessed with a character and would be pleasantly surprised if his or her name showed up on the Round IX list? Can the RPF fen get some love? Glee? White Collar? A frustrated Dean topping Castiel from the bottom, anyone? For bandom folks, maybe Brendon masturbating while in clothes/briefs Ryan left behind (post-split)?
Let us have a few of your favorite things.

Date: 2010-01-21 06:19 pm (UTC)BK is an awesome game that doesn't get much recognition at all. Like The Legend of Dragoon.

Date: 2010-01-21 06:21 pm (UTC)I'm requesting both het and non-het, so hopefully you'll find what you want in the lot :3
I like the fact that you put Mizuti/Kee in that orderno subject
Date: 2010-01-21 06:24 pm (UTC)Hey, Mizuti deserves some love, too. Even if she's only fourteen...

Date: 2010-01-21 06:26 pm (UTC)Mizuti is the one true pimp of the BK team. She's the youngest, but she tops everyone 8D

Date: 2010-01-21 06:29 pm (UTC)I don't know... She is awesome, but Kalas is one of the coolest main characters ever. He successfully goes evil!

Date: 2010-01-21 06:33 pm (UTC)Tales of Symphonia is fun, but it's also one of the worst of the Tales series. (and one of the easiest, lol). If you want to invest you might want to invest in Vesperia if you don't have it yet. (won't stop you from playing Symphonia, though. Some of the chars are worth it.)
More like he gets totally manipulated into it, though. When you look at things no matter where in the game, he's actually following someone's idea.

Date: 2010-01-21 06:36 pm (UTC)Well, yeah. Almost all evil people in RPG's are following someone else's idea. But Kalas is willingly helping Melodia... It's not like he's hypnotized or anything.

Well. Symphonia is definitely better than its sequel, at any rate XD. The fighting style is slower, though, you'll have to get used to that.
Huh? I dunno, most of those I've played are not. I mean, BKO, half the fire emblem, almost all Tales of... the villains are following their own agenda, not being manipulated or catching on someone else's idea. But then maybe I haven't played the right games.

Date: 2010-01-21 06:46 pm (UTC)FIRE EMBLEM!!!! The game of the gods... Seriously, that series is awesome!!! The GBA one's more so, but still... And those are a clear example. All the bad guys are manipulated by something... I don't know which ones you've played, so I'll keep quiet on possible spoilers. You should play some FF's, too. Except for 12. 12 sucked beyond suckage. FF7 is the best!

Date: 2010-01-21 06:52 pm (UTC)which is why I don't wait for localizations hahahaI've played from 6 to 10. And I'd say Lehran is a beautiful example of a mastermind who did everything because of what HE wanted, including manipulating a godess.
12 is the only FF I've played, and it was good plot-wise, but the battle system sent me in RAGE. I don't have the courage to play any more FF, I think, mostly because they require ages and ages of level grinding and rely a lot less on skill, and I like playing underlevel. I dunno, most of what I've seen of the battle systems turned me off. I might try some of the earlier ones though.

Date: 2010-01-21 07:01 pm (UTC)I haven't actually played Fuuin no Tsurugi, but my brother found a hack to translate it to English, so I'll play it someday. Yeah, SephiLehran is an awesome bad guy, I guess, but I meant as far as Ashnard, Zephiel, Nergal, and Lyon go. All of them are under some spell or curse or possessed by some ancient power or something. As for FF, the PS1 ones are the easiest. FF7 & 8 are the easiest ones to get levels in. I never beat 10 because I used to be an underleveler(?), but I grew out of that. I'll tell you right now, FF's 1-6 are the hardet ones.

Date: 2010-01-21 07:06 pm (UTC)I'd say "try tales of the abyss or tales of legendia" but they aren't that good either... (damnit, why did all the good ones stay in japan? T.T Well, except Eternia and Vesperia, but Eternia is old, and Vesperia, well you don't have a xbox.)
Well yeah but in some cases you do get to find the masterminds behind them, right?
Hard is good <3 I get bored otherwise XD *has taken to doing her bosses at the max difficulty level, recently*
I was retarded enough to play BK until the first giacomo fight without using my XP to get levels. It was a fun ride.
Edit: ok, i'm being mean. Abyss is not that bad.

Date: 2010-01-21 07:14 pm (UTC)While, yes, you do find Idoun and Fomortiis, the bad guy that you (or your characters) know to be the bad guy is usually a good guy being manipulated by something.
I just thought I'd mention those were hard since you said you don't like leveling up. And that's not to say 7 and 8 aren't hard... Just easier to get levels in. And I mastered 8's ass so well I can kill the ending boss without breaking a sweat. 7, too.

Date: 2010-01-21 07:21 pm (UTC)Ah ok yeah in that case.
But yeah it's true taht I tend to prefer villains who work on their own agenda. it's more intersting to see why a character is acting in a certain way if he's actually doing things of his own accord.
(like Symphonia's boss, for example, and aren't yĆ ou getting terribly spoilt by playing the sequel btw?)
It's just... for me, hard =/= need moar levels. For me, hard = need a lot of skill. That's one of the reasons I loved Baten Kaitos, because even with a high level, if you didn't pay attention you could get killed, and with a very shitty level, if you played really well you can still win. I love the Tales for that too (well, some of them don't work that well, but as a whole), because it relies a lot on fighting skill. If a boss is impossible to beat at a certain level nt because he's hard but because the stats make it so that one hit WILL kill you no matter what you do, then I don't see where the challenge is. I LIKE breaking sweats over bosses.

Date: 2010-01-21 07:32 pm (UTC)My favorite villians are the twisted ones who actually have a reason to be where they are. Lezard Valeth of Valkyrie Profile is an awesome deluded maniac, for example. Sephiroth has a good reason for being where he is, too. And, to be honest, I didn't know it was the sequel when I started it. I thought about putting it down and running to get the first one, but I'm too lazy and broke.
I like a challenge with bosses, but when they're so hard that you can't do anything at all, then I get cranky. I like strategy based games where if you just change the way you fight, then you can win just like that. I think The Legend of Dragoon is one of my favorite games because one little thing can make each playthough that much more difficult.

Date: 2010-01-22 02:33 pm (UTC)I like those that have a combination of skill and strategy most. That's why I love BK, I think, and BKO even more. You have to THINK fast, and know your deck by heart, and anticipate everything... and you also need godamn reflexes XD
That being said, Golden Sun is one of my favourite games ever and it's just strategy, so... I think the complexity of the system made up for it. That and the depth of the characters.

Date: 2010-01-22 03:00 pm (UTC)Baten Kaitos is an awesome game. I love the confusion status effect. It certainly made the game more... interesting. Savyna with confusion is just crayyyzyyy...
I've never played Golden Sun, but I've heard it was really good. I always liked Fire Emblem, just because of the strategy aspect. The earlier ones were harder, I think.

Date: 2010-01-22 08:15 pm (UTC)Hahaha I always equip the dark armor as soon as I get it, because confusion = LOL I DON'T CARE, and it raises all the other stats and protects against death \o/
Golden Sun is very strategic. It's really awesome, and probably a good one to pick up since the third one will be out soon.
Well I can't speak for one to five, but six is definitely harder than, say, eight. Sacred stones was a piece of pie XD
That being said, Radiant Dawn was nicely challenging.

Date: 2010-01-23 04:44 pm (UTC)The confusion in that game is fun! I always left Mizuti with it. I never give Savyna hers, though. She's a mess with it.
I'll try Golden Sun one of these days...
Sacred Stones was the second one I played, the first being Path of Radiance. SS seemed pretty different and difficult compared to that one. RD was challenging at first, but now it's easy-peasy... Until I tried normal difficulty.

Date: 2010-01-23 08:05 pm (UTC)Haha, I didn't really use Savyna that much for the last dungeons. I sticked with my main team, mostly because they had very balanced numbers and I could pull off rising/setting suns nearly non-stop XD
You found sacred stones difficult? But you can level up in it, unlike every other fire Emblem I know. And the maps were generally easy compared to the other ones. Seven and six are much harder IMO.
XD you were playing on easy?
no subject
Date: 2010-01-23 08:27 pm (UTC)I only found it difficult the first time. And only for the first few missions. It was easy after that. And, yes, I played RD on easy the first time. And haven't gotten very far on normal. I haven't had much time for it.
