A/N: Sorry this one was late, my muse was being a serious brat! *pouts*

I really hope this one comes out ok for you prompter. Sorry, for some reason it just died on me half way though. The ending isn’t my favorite, sorry. *hangs head*
Prompt was: - FMA (Ed/Ling) - first kiss - would prefer the Gluttony's stomach arc

“That’s it!” Ed complained as he flopped onto a beige flat stone; the other boy he had been carrying flopped (almost lifelessly) onto the rock, never making a sound as his face connected to the stone harshly. The blond’s back ached slightly as he fell onto the hard surface. “I can’t move another muscle! For real, if I ever decide to move off of this rock I am not carrying you.”

A weak moan was the only response that Ed’s traveling partner could give, along with a half hearted wave of a hand. His face was planted too firmly against the stone for anything else.

Traveling through a pitch black cavern (Ed hated calling it Gluttony’s stomach, that thought still creeped him out too much), that was filled with blood, while carrying a worn out prince, was more then what the alchemist could handle. His legs had started to give out a good ten minutes ago, and only sheer will power kept the teenager going further. He had promised Al that they would get their bodies back together. And he refused to be beaten by some gluttonous homunculi that had decided to swallow them (yet another thought that freaked him out).

With a groan Ed planted his hands firmly on the ground- as he tried to ignore a passing thought of changing the stone into a lounge chair (complete with an umbrella drink and a beautiful umbrella above)- and with a mental countdown the teen pushed on the stone, trying to force himself into a sitting position. Both arms shook, his automail creaking as the gears tried to push his entire frame before they gave out. With a puff of air Ed fell back onto the stone, his head cracking heavily.

“I give. I can stay here easily enough.” Yawning Ed turned his head to Ling, watching the boy wearily roll himself onto his back. They both were exhausted beyond belief; the blood and destruction had taken its toll on the young boys, leaving them physically and mentally exhausted.

“Hey Ling.” Another weak moan answered the boy, “how long do you think it would take us to be digested. I mean there’s no real acid right. So how long?”

“No idea. Days, weeks, months, maybe years. Let’s ask Gluttony, he should know.” Eyes focused solely on the darkness above him as Ling tried to think of a way out. He refused to die here, even if exhaustion had him never wanting to move again.

“Great. Sorry I asked.”

Automail moved slowly, as Ed raised his hand up to the ceiling above, golden eyes focused solely on the metal hand that slowly turned in a circle. Wearily he covered his eyes with his arm, refusing to look anymore at the depressing, compressing darkness.

Claustrophobia had slowly been closing in as he walked in the never ending darkness, realizing that an exit may be impossible to find. Besides, he wondered, just what were they looking for? A neon red sign that pointed to double-doors, with the words ‘Exit’ clearly printed in large block letters?

“This sucks.” The alchemist sighed, refusing to move his arm, he did not want to look around anymore. The sight was depressing.

“What does?”

A humorless laugh fell from the blond’s mouth as his arm fell from his face. “I just realized, we’re probably going to die here and I’ve…” Ed froze realizing just what he was about to mention. Something that Ling would probably hold over him forever, no matter how short that really was. “Ehh…never mind.”

With a grunt, Ling forced himself into a sitting position, his legs crossed before resting his hands on knees. “Well you can’t just leave it like that. I’m just going to wonder what it is.”

“You’ll laugh.” With a groan Ed tried again to push himself up, only to fail with painful consequences as his back fell onto the hard boulder again. “Ouch.”

“I promise I won’t.” Ling leaned forward, his left hand bracing himself upright as he stared into the golden eyes below him.

“Yeah right.” Ed tried to ignore the Prince’s staring, tried to push away just how close he was. Even closing his eyes tightly, Ed still could feel the piercing stare, how it dug into his skin little by little, tearing at him trying to break him open (trying to bare his soul, pry out each secret).

“Come on,” Ling whispered as he stared. It gnawed at him, made him wonder just what Ed had almost said. “You have to trust those who are with you. I’m here in this…” Ling looked around the cavern as he tried to think of an appropriate word before giving up, “cavern with you. So trust me. I won’t laugh.”

“Fine!” The teen alchemist sighed, staring intently into the Xingese’s eyes. “I’ve never…” Scratching his nose, Ed averted his eyes trying to not stare at the other boy (and the reaction to what he was about to say next), as he focused on the stone between them (it was a lovely shad of gray with red specks mixed in…blood perhaps), “been kissed. Never had my first kiss.”

Stunned Ling tried to decide just what to say or do next. A thin eye brow raised slightly as he stared trying to decide if what the alchemist was saying was true or false.

Ed felt his a flush slowly consume his cheeks at the intensity of Ling’s stare, and he could only hope that the consuming darkness would keep the other boy from noticing it.

“Really?” Disbelief flooded the Prince’s voice as he stared. It was unbelievable, somehow he had expected Ed to have had at least a kiss by now. That much at least. Especially something as simple as a kiss (it was a common gesture, something that people passed so often anymore).

“Well you know.” Sighing the blond pushed himself upright, finally finding just enough strength. His right arm slid behind him to hold him upright, automail creaking slightly. “My village was small and the only girl I really knew was Winry. Believe me she may look weak but she knows how to take care of herself. Besides she’s like a sister. And kissing your sister,” Ed’s face turned a slight shade of green at just the thought.

Slowly he stretched out his legs, trying to stretch out the stiff joints from such restricted movements. “And then…” Ed paused trying to decide just how to explain it; it sounded so much better in his head, he had no time after his mother died trying to find a way to bring her back. And now in the military…Yes girls loved a man in a uniform (though he never wore one, but still saying you were in the military was good enough for most) but him and Al were usually on the run, trying to survive.

“I see you ended up too busy and just never have had the chance.” Ling supplied shrugging. Suddenly it made sense. Perfect sense. Well, kind of. At least as much sense as anything involving Ed could be (Ling was going to be rich if he ever wrote these adventures in a book).

Ed puffs out his cheeks before sticking his lower lip out. “Yeah, yeah. I know you want to laugh. Whatever.”

Embarrassment burned deep in him, setting him aflame, he swore he could feel it smoldering deep within him. His cheeks flushed slightly, a pale rosy color, as he focused intently at the rock he was sitting on. Idly he scratched at a red fleck on the boulder, thumbnail scratched along the smooth gray surface as he tried to peel the red away (he was almost certain it was blood now).

Ling almost bristled at the comment. How could he doubt his word? “I gave you my promise. And a Prince always keeps his promises.”

“Not the ones I know,” Ed muttered under his breath as he glanced at the other boy from the corner of his eye.

“Huh?”

“Nothing.” Ed really did not want to start another fight. It was actually peaceful to just sit and relax; not have to run and fight for your life every second.

“So want to fix that?” Ling leaned back, legs crossed Indian style as he stared at the other boy.

Golden eyes blinked as Ed tried to figure out just what the Xingese was saying. His mind toiled over the question, before trying to apply every possible meaning before coming up blank. Silence had fallen over the two as Ed stared (quite blankly) and Ling waited (much too patently).

“What?” Ed curled his legs back up. Suddenly he felt that something was off. Something was wrong.

“Want to fix never having your first kiss?”

Golden eyes blink again as Ed tries to filter the next question through his brain. He had always prided himself at being smart (both smart-assed and book smart) but right now he just felt completely stupid, trying to figure out what he meant.

Suddenly the light went off in his head…

Oh god, he could not mean…

But how else would it be remedied?

Oh god…

Why did the thought not freak him out, terrify him and make him want to scream profanities at the other man?

OH god…

Ed actually felt his heart race for a second, just at the mere thought.

OH GOD…

“Me and you?” Ed asked, only to feel his stomach drop further at Ling’s nod. But the drop was not all bad…was it?

Damn it they needed to write a manual for this type of stuff. ‘What to do when a random guy (a friend that you have never come on to) asks for a kiss.’

“Just one kiss. Don’t tell me you’re too innocent for that much.” A smirk grew on the Prince’s face, he knew that the blond would rise up to take the bait.

“Yeah right. Please. A kiss is so much easier then fighting that brat Envy.”

Hook, line and sinker. He took the bait perfectly, almost too easily.

“Fine, come here then.”

Ed crawled over, as he stared warily at the other boy. He carefully maneuvered until he was pressed close to Ling’s thighs, facing the other boy. He could feel his heart race at the contact and of what would happen next.

Leaning forward Ling whispered into the boy’s ear, as he shifted until he was sitting on his legs. “Relax.” He leaned forward, hair brushing against Ed’s shoulder as it fell over his shoulder, tilting his head slightly before he pressed his lips to Ed’s in a soft, chaste kiss.

Ed froze up for a second, his back becoming rigid as he stared at the blurred boy before him, his breath shakily came out (as it wafted over Ling‘s face and bounced back to his). Slowly he began to relax as golden eyes slid shut and lips became more pliable.

Feeling the other boy relax, Ling carefully shifted his position before pressing deeper into the kiss. Slowly he began moving his lips, still keeping it from becoming too much more, before pulling away. A smile crossed Ling’s face as he felt, more then heard, the blond’s protest at the kiss ending so soon.

Ling sat back again as he stared at the flushed boy before him (pink really was a beautiful color for his cheeks) that tried to bring himself back to reality.

“Well, now you can die knowing you’ve had your first kiss.” Ling supplied as he leaned back, arms pressed into the stone behind him.

Golden eyes stared at the other boy, trying to decide just what to do, before he mentally shrugged. Ah hell why not. It would distract them for a while; at least until they found the exit out of here. Without a second word he leaned forward. Lips pressed to Ling’s as a hand wrapped around the Prince’s head, holding him in place. After a second Ling happily hummed into the kiss, before he leaned into the kiss, fingers curled around blond strands.

Hee! I was the prompter (again). :D

Ed is so sweetly nerdy in this (nerding about homunculus digestive juices) and Ling is so wonderfully calculating (how do we pass the time?). I enjoyed this a lot! Thank you. :3
