Hands Off! (Kotarou/Tatsuki/Yuuto)
Jul. 2nd, 2007 11:17 amTitle: untitled
Author:
misura
Rating: PG for lack of actual action
Warnings: Really short.
Summary: Some things never change - but some things do.
The trick was to not, under any circumstances, let Kotarou feel like he was anything less than the center of attention - which was fairly easy, because Yuuto knew that with Tatsuki, his presence barely even registered (words like 'obsessive' and 'fixated' came to mind where it concerned Tatsuki's attitude towards Kotarou, really) and as for Yuuto himself, well, 'cute' had always been more his type than 'strong and silent' - not that Yuuto ever mentioned that descriptive and very fitting adjective around Kotarou more often than, say, once an hour. (Kotarou ought to have gotten used to it by now, Yuuto felt, but he guessed that maybe stubborness was an Oohira family-trait.)
Also, they had to stick to familiar places, where Tatsuki wouldn't get freaked out by anything that had ever happened there. The first time, that requirement had given Yuuto a headache, but over time, they made nice memories for Tatsuki to revisit in lots of places, and Tatsuki grudgingly admitted that it was true that touching Kotarou didn't mean he got to see the worst things that had ever happened somewhere - which was quite a relief to Yuuto, because as a 'basically straight guy who'd turned a bit queer for the sake of friendship', he wasn't sure if he'd have managed to pull off a talk with Tatsuki about how having a homosexual relationship with his cousin and a friend was in no way bad or shameful.
Over time, Yuuto was surprised to find that he seemed to have developed some sort of sixth (or maybe seventh) sense when it came to Kotarou and Tatsuki - he never had to look for either of them when he wanted to talk to them, and even when he couldn't see them, he knew their mood, which was generally cheerful or pissed off in Kotarou's case, and gloomy, broody or worried in Tatsuki's case. (That guy needed to lighten up big time, in Yuuto's opinion, especially considering how Yuuto'd fixed his broken relationship with Kotarou and gotten him to view his gift as something other than a curse to boot - both of which were things that should have made Tatsuki a lot happier than he seemed to be.)

Date: 2007-07-02 03:23 pm (UTC)So cute and I love the dynamic between them and how Yuuto tries to keep all their needs balanced out. His descriptions of Kotarou and Tatsuki are dead on and it's neat to see him admitting that he needs them as much as they all need each other.
And the 'basically straight guy' line was just brilliant. :)
