Warnings: Slash
Rating: Pg-13
Word Count: 600
Prompt: July 13th Justice League (Cartoon version), Wally West/Bruce Wayne: Dating – It’s not something he can control.
Disclaimer: I do not own these characters and that makes me sad sometimes until I realize I can still write using them. Yay!
It’s not something he could control. No one really could control Wally West. It was as impossible a task as trying to take a Coco cookie away from J’onn or an apple pie away from Clark. It just couldn’t be done.
So when Wally had the idea of going out on a date with Bruce, a legitimate dinner and a movie with hand holding afterwards while they walk through a park or something date, Bruce couldn’t do anything but submit. Well, that’s what Wally told him anyways. But even without the cape and cowl on, Bruce Wayne was still Batman and Batman was stubborn.
“No.” He stated and then turned away from the redhead.
That hadn’t been the last of it like he had hoped. Wally started taking things while Bruce was working. One moment Bruce would be writing something then he would put his pen done to grab his coffee and when he went to pick up his pen again it was gone. In the pen’s place was a slip of paper cut out from the newspaper depicting movies and times for the local theater.
It was annoying, but Bruce got over it. His patience was better than Wally’s.
Except when Wally started to unplug the computer in the Batcave before Bruce had the chance to save anything.
Bruce gave up and went to the Watchtower.
Wally followed.
Bruce often wondered how Wally actually managed to save anyone when he was spending all week bothering him. Little pranks and annoyances were starting to add up. But what finally did Bruce in was when Wally denied him of after-battle sex.
“Oh I’m sorry? You want sex?” Wally asked from his doorway, his suit half off already. “You must be mistaking me for someone easy. I like to get dinner and a fun night before I give anything.”
“We’ve had sex before.” Batman reminded with a growl.
“Well that was before, when I was satisfied with being a sex toy. Not anymore, Bruce, I want a commitment of some sort. I want a boyfriend.” Wally pouted.
Bruce resisted the urge to slap his forehead as much as he resisted the urge to slap Wally over the head. “What do you think we are?”
Wally’s pout turned into a look of confusion. “But if we are boyfriends, then why don’t you want to take me out on a date?”
Bruce sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. “I don’t like movie theaters.”
“Oh,” Wally stated and then his eyes widened. “Oh, oh right! Um, well how about dinner and a long walk then?”
“Walking around in Gotham results in being mugged.” Bruce pointed out.
“We could do it at my place.” Wally suggested. “Less people would recognize Bruce Wayne that way. Plus, there’s this nice restaurant at the end of my block that I’ve been dying to actually check out. They always have their specials written on this little blackboard outside their door and they sound--”
Bruce cut off Wally with a simple, “Okay.”
“—so delicious and—wait, what did you just say?” Wally asked.
Bruce smiled and leaned in to press a kiss to Wally’s lips. “It’s a date.” He turned around to leave but Wall zipped in front of him.
“Where are you going?” Wally frowned.
“Well, you said you didn’t want to have sex,” Bruce reminded.
Wally brushed the comment off. “That was before. Now come on,” Wally tugged playfully on Bruce’s arm as he led him into his bedroom.
Bruce was happy that he couldn’t control Wally West. It made their relationship more interesting that way.
