I just want to take a moment to thank all the wonderful mods (nanakibh and emerald_embers), volunteers, writers, and artists who kept this community active and viable while I was away. I can never thank you enough for sticking around this little community for round after round!


Note: Late entries from Round X will still be accepted until our prompt submission period ends on February 29th. So feel free to share your work if you find yourself suddenly inspired.


The schedule for our next round will be as follows:

Round XI Schedule
Prompt Submission begins February 1, 2012.
Prompt Submission period ends on February 29, 2012.
Prompt List goes up by March 3, 2012.
Claiming begins on March 10, 2012 @ 9 AM EST.
Stories/Art will be posted between May 1st and May 31st.

A question suddenly occurred to me: is there an AO3 collection for sprinkink fics? If there isn't, would it be possible to make one? I know that quite a few people have left LJ for various reasons, but an AO3 collection - or an identical DW community! - would still let them take part in springkink if they want to.

What a wonderful idea. Would you happen to know what I'd need to do in order to open one up on AO3?

I can't say that I'm well-versed on how things are run there. I'm thinking about cross-posting the prompt lists at DW as well. Any thoughts?

There is a "Community: Springkink" tag at AO3, which I've been using as I add old Springkink fics there. There may be other ways to make an actual community there, too. I'm still learning my way around there.

A Dreamwidth mirror comm would be lovely (IMO). If you don't already know, you don't need an invite code to make a new account there at the moment, and you can import whole communities as well as personal journals now, if you want to do that.

I just checked it and all you need is an AO3 account. When you go to your profile, there's a "Collections" option on the left sidebar and you can create a collection you mod through that. It seems really simple! The result will be like, for example, last year's Yuletide collection (http://archiveofourown.org/collections/yuletide2011): all the stories people post are in one place and you can find them by fandom. If someone has already posted their old sprinkink fics to AO3, they can just add them to the collection if they want to.

A DW community would be great, too! A lot of people moved there from LJ and like tsutsuji above said, you can import this whole community with all the fics if you want to.
