Seeing Himself
Ben can see himself in Lucas.
And that came out totally wrong in his head.
Right now, they are laid back, hanging out in Ben's rooms, watching a game on the screen. Didn't get to do this often, so Ben enjoyed it while he could. Lucas was close enough that his leg was pressed against Ben's, and the boy was cheering on his team. Which had surprised the hell out of Ben when he had first found out. Kid didn't seem like he would have a thing for sports, let along an actual team he rooted for.
Right now, this felt pretty good. Later, if they were still alone, Ben knew what this would lead to. And he knew if anyone found out, there would be a line of people reading to cut him apart. He knew at least three who would fight to be the first in line. Not that he was sure if Lucas realized he had been adopted like he had, and Katie would gut him for touching someone who was so young.
But Lucas reminded Ben of himself when he was young. Personality wise, it was like looking into a mirror. Wild, carefree, trying so hard to be an adult when he didn't have the slightest idea of what to do.
Maybe he should be illegal, he just makes life too complete.
He could only imagine that the thrill he got while with the boy was like a drug addict, too much to resist and too good to give up.
One day, he was going to get caught, and then there would be hell to pay.
Right now, though, he enjoyed the feel of Lucas's leg against his, and took what he could.
