Made Believe.
“You're asking for too much,” Eden ducks her head and moves to the living room. Mohinder follows her, with his eyes first and then he goes after her, giving her room as she walks three steps forward the door and three steps back inside, towards him. Finally, she looks at him again, eyes huge and a little scared and the reason why he still insists – wanting. Mohinder isn't sure what she wants but it's enough for him to put his foot down. Eden shakes her head again. “Mohinder, you don't know what you're asking for!”
“I'm asking for the truth.”
“Exactly! It's too – it's too complicated.”
Mohinder shrugs. He's never been afraid of 'complicated'. Frustrated? Yes, very much so, but he can deal with that better than with ignorance.
“I just want to know who you are.”
Something changes again in Eden's eyes after his statement, some sort of understanding. Something twists in Mohinder's stomach when he wonders if she's going to show him her powers and he'd be lying to himself if he was to say he hasn't wondered what ability she masters. Eden licks her lips and he does the same, still looking at her.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
Eden gives a small smile that makes the twisting in his stomach both worsen and lessen, especially when she comes close to him and lifts a hand to his face. Her hand feels soft against his face and her eyes are still complicated and they are still wanting. Mohinder nods again despite the fact that Eden didn't ask anything this time.
She sighs. “Sometimes I don't even want to touch your mind, but sometimes... ”
“Yes?” He asks, but Eden shakes her head again before she smiles a little.
“'Kiss me.'”
And it's as easy as that. Mohinder finds out that he can't think or care of anything else but kissing Eden, of parting her lips with his tongue and sucking on hers gently, of feeling her small body pressed against his as he pulls her close and she wraps her arms around his neck. There's nothing else in the whole world that it's as important or precious.
When Mohinder wakes up, a few hours later, he is alone, the memory of her taste on his lips and the touch of her body against his own and Eden is nowhere to be seen; there's just a paper by his side.
Complicated enough for you?

Date: 2007-07-16 08:56 am (UTC)It's very cute - and yeah, it's complicated. :-)
I love your characterization of Mohinder, who really wants to know - he's a scientist, after all - and Eden, which doesn't exactly know what she has the right to do...
