Right Now

This was one of those things she wouldn't share with the others, no matter how often they said it was her duty as vice-president of the Shinigami Women's Association. While she might help them trick Shunsui or Ukitake into various situations, it was all in good fun, and all three of them accepted that.

She did have to admit, sharing the wealth was nice.

But, sometimes, things were just for her.

Like how Shunsui had looked when she had gone to the hot spring and shed her robe, wearing that bikini she had been gifted from the human world. Or when Ukitake had taken her glasses off to kiss her, his touch light.

Sometimes, she felt the outsider. They were the oldest captains in the Gotei 13, passed only by General Yamamoto himself. They had been friends longer than she had even been alive.

There were things she just didn't understand, and she knew that.

But right now, lounging in the bath, hot water steaming all around her as she watched them kiss, well, Nanao had to admit, she did enjoy her life.
