Prompts

- All prompts from Round 1, fulfilled or not, will be discarded.

- Question: Should we do the same with prompts submitted for Round II or give them another chance with one more round (as we did with Round 1 prompts)?

- I know that The BIG BOYS are coming up. I'm speaking of [livejournal.com profile] merry_smutmas, [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, NANO, etc etc, so I'm aiming for an October round (October 1st thru October 31st). Prompt submission starting up this weekend and open until the end of August. Claiming to begin the first week of September.

Thoughts?

I'm all for giving the Round II prompts another chance. Partly because some people dropped their claims, and might like another chance to pick them up. And I think springkink is picking up more writers with each round, so there may be newcomers who'll jump at the old prompts.

A question for you, as well: is the kinkfest community at insanejournal affiliated with this community?

Cool! I wasn't sure if the two communities belonged together, since I didn't notice an announcement on [livejournal.com profile] springkink.

As for the question of old prompts, I like the suggestion below (http://community.livejournal.com/springkink/357896.html?thread=3871240#t3871240).

I'd suggest that all old prompts be discarded.

I think a prompter should be able to submit their suggestion again, if they want, but there many old prompts- some of which the prompters may no longer be interested in.

'there are many old prompts'

God *facepalm* spellcheck much?

I agree with this. Maybe the ones that were claimed and unfulfilled would get a second chance, but if you really want something written you can suggest again.

i say we keep the round two prompts a little longer. there were one or two unclaimed ones in there that i know i would like to adopt.

and i think that an ocotober round sounds good. keeps from interfering with the bigger, scarier challenge comms.

I actually think that prompts might get lost in the shuffle if we keep all the round 2 prompts; if people really want to see it they can resubmit, but gods, that's a lot of bookkeeping for you if we keep the older ones....

...I'm still working on some of the round 2 prompts *FAILS* So I would like to ask for another chance at publishing them >: If it's possible, that's it.

Mental note: Remember to never, ever, ask for so many prompts at once.

I'm with you- My problem was real life hit me harder than usual about a week after the prompts were set, and I kept thinking it would relax.

And it did. Four days ago.

*patpat*

It was the same for me. University was mean. *cries* I've finished fixing all the disaster just last week. And there were my prompts, looking at me with a frustrated face.

If we keep all the prompts from the summer round, I have a feeling that the new ones for the fall round might be overshadowed. But at the same time I'm all for giving unclaimed/dropped ones a second chance, so how about you just allow them to be resubmitted?

So; if there are some of my old prompts that were never picked up that I really do want to see, I can just submit them again and hope they have better luck this time. I think that'll be the best, from all perspectives.

I think that's a very good idea (now, to remember which of the unclaimed prompts were mine!).

It's more a matter of working my way through the posting schedule and picking out the prompts that I recognize as my own. I deleted the copy I'd kept for myself, but I know there are a few prompts I'd like to see picked up.

I'm inclined to give the Round II prompts another chance, because I am the type of person who will read every single prompt set up under a given day.

On the other hand, if we had the chance to resubmit the ones we like, I would have no problem with them being dropped.

The nice thing about having such second round choices is that a person can work on one of those fics outside the usual time limits. If someone loses interest in a prompt, they can always ask you to drop it. And, besides, there's often quite a few people who enjoy the story besides the person who prompted it.

This isn't the Halloween challenge, right? Or is it?
Man, I am in fact the most confused person in fandom.

I think that it'd be easier in the long term to discard them, and just have the prompters resubmit if they so choose to. There should be the chance to repost them again.

Okay! October, I can deal with that. Yes I can.

Please can I post the last few stories I owe for the summer round if I get them in by Monday morning? Then those prompts aren't unfulfilled.

Can those of us no longer posting on LJ save our unclaimed prompts and post them on the next round of kinkfest, whenever that may be?
