Rules for Claiming

The Prompt Lists will be open for claiming Tuesday September 11, 2007 @ 9:00 PM EST.


Rules for Claiming Prompts:


I. Please make your request to the correct post. If you're interesting in snagging a prompt listed under October 2nd, please comment to the appropriate entry. We will pass over claims made to the wrong entry.

[October 1st - October 11th][October 12th - October 20th][October 21st - October 31st]

II. List the date and copy and paste each prompt you selected. [Ex. October 21 - Doctor Who, Master/Doctor: need - "I'll never stop hating you"]

III. You will be expected to write at least 100 words per prompt. Artists: I leave it all in your capable hands.

IV. Collaborations are welcome.

V. Please be patient. We will note your claim as soon as we are able to.

VI. You may not claim your own prompts.

VII. Prompts may be claimed four times (twice for art and twice for fic).



When you are claiming prompts, you should feel free to interpret the prompt in whatever way seems most interesting to you (wherever the story takes you), as long as you don't completely ignore the elements that the requester submitted. Part of the fun of the challenge, after all, is seeing how people can take the same starting idea and come up with different responses to it.

Oki doki then! I can get right to noting prompts as soon as the claiming begins (well, as soon as I've commented with my own claims, that is XD). And I'll keep it up until I go to bed -- which, thanks to time differences, will probably be 3-4 hours after claiming begins... Sorry that that's not that long, but I'll return to working on it as soon as I wake up.

Sorry if I'm being pushy here, but I think it would probably be a good idea if we try to get a game plan before claiming begins. There's plenty of us who want to help, I see, but I almost think it'd be best of only one person works on each claiming post at a time. Because otherwise, we might end up undoing each other's work -- for example if two people are editing the same post at the same time, whoever clicks the post/edit button last will overwrite what the other did.

Also, can you look into the problem that lauand is having? *points below* I can't check it myself since the original submission post is screened so that only you can see it. I did, however, look over the prompt lists that you posted over at spkmod; but I didn't see it listed there.

Hate to be a bother - but I'm not seeing one of my prompts on the list. Was there a limit to how many we could have (my 2nd one is there).

AFAIK, there wasn't a limit. I took a look at the list that the moderator posted up for us helpers, and I saw only two prompts from you -- both of which were on the finished lists above (one Hot Fuzz prompt and one Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). Did you submit any more than those? I sadly can't check your original comment that contained your prompts as that post is screened so that only the moderator can see it.

Hmmm - wierdly my prompt seems to be there now. I dunno why I didn't see it yesterday (I did a Find for 'Hot' and it didn't catch it) - It could very well be that I just missed it somehow. Wierd. Maybe the page didn't finish loading when I searched or something - because it's certainly there now.

Sometimes, when I use that search/find function, it misses stuff too. Like, it won't actually search the page unless you highlight some of the text. I guess it's just a wierd bug or something.

I could be in trouble with you ;), as I've already written two and started one more XD, out of the nine I'm planning on claiming tomorrow.

The best thing is my yaoi_challenge fic is breathing Epic Vibes down my neck so I've had to promise myself that for every three springkink fics I finish I'll write another chapter of that XD, or I'll never stay on top of everything.

(If it's any consolation, I narrowed down to that nine out of ninety-six that I looked at XD. There's still about 49 out there I'd love to do if I get the chance, and 14 that if I don't have a go at I'll be annoyed with myself ^^)

Excuse me, could it be possible that one of my prompts got lost in the space-time? If I did it wrong, broke some rules or posted it too late, please, let me know. I believe it belonged to day 18 and it was a Saiyuki one. Sorry for the bother!

I just took a look at the list that the moderator posted up for us helpers, and I could only see one prompt from you (a Saiyuki one for the 2nd). So I'm guessing the moderator might've missed your other prompt, but I sadly can't look for it in your original comment (that contained your prompts) as that post is screened and only the moderator can see it. So there's nothing I can do, sorry :\ Hopefully the moderator will look into it ASAP.

lauand, thanks for being patient while I looked into the problem. Ok, the reason the prompt you submitted for the 18th was omitted was because of the length of the prompt. It was too leading.

How long will the Prompt Lists be open for claiming?

The previous rounds had claiming open until the very end. The only thing you couldn't do was claim prompts from days that had already passed (but if you wanted to claim a prompt for July 30 and it was the 29th, then that was fine).

I'm sorta assuming this round will be the same -- but I can't say for sure since, well, I'm not the moderator! ^_^;

Several of the claims that I specified to be art have been tagged as fic. Is there a way to fix this?

I don't know if anyone's got back to you on this yet or if it's been resolved, but I'd just comment on the relevant posts "Hey, I actually wanted these listed as art claims", and it'll get tidied up later. Makes it easier for the mods if problems with specific claims are listed on the same post as the claim is :).
