FF7/Sailor Moon (Sephiroth/Sailor Saturn)
Oct. 1st, 2007 09:28 amTitle: Crashing Heart
Author: belladonna12
Rating: R
Word count: 299
Summary: No matter how hard your heart crashes, you’re not alone when your world falls apart.
A/N: Yet another one linked into the ficverse. Bit sad, but I like it.
Disclaimer: I don’t own the ideas for FFVII or Sailor Moon, nor am I making any money off of this.
Prompt: Final Fantasy VII/Sailor Moon, Sephiroth/Sailor Saturn: Going to pieces - “if you need to fall apart/ I can mend a broken heart/ if you need to crash, then crash and burn/ you’re not alone”
Crashing Heart
“Hotaru! Hotaru!” Sephiroth shouted for his wife, Masamune mowing down monster after monster. He couldn’t recall the name this group called themselves, or what their grudge against the senshi was, but they were strong. Eerily, or perhaps ironically, the generals and higher ups resembled Jenova. To think that he had come so far to get away from his ‘Mother’ only to run into her entire species. Cosmos and Chaos must be laughing on their thrones.
“Sephiroth…” Hotaru’s voice whispered over his communicator, barely audible. “Get… get back to the ship…” Sephiroth realized what she meant to do.
“Hotaru! NO!”
“It will give you the chance to beat them. I want Hematite to grow up free, not a weapon in their hands. Please, beloved.” Sephiroth ground his teeth, but he could never refuse her when she pleaded.
“As you wish.” He began to retreat. Hotaru’s voice ghosted over the communicator again, ominous this time.
“If you need to fall apart,”
Sephiroth felt the dark, deadly pinpricks of her power begin to grow.
“I can mend a broken heart.”
It faltered, but grew stronger, surer.
“If you need to crash, then crash and burn,”
Sephiroth slammed through the shuttle door, closing it behind him as Hotaru’s power raged outside, barely held in check.
“You’re not alone.”
A pause, encompassing all that was unsaid and needed to be said.
“I love you, Seph. Death reborn revolution.” The power roared, knocking him out.
When he came to, it was to the crystal palace’s infirmary and Mercury’s sad face. For days, he said nothing, did nothing, barely ate or slept, grieving. Then, one morning, without speaking, Mercury handed him Hematite and left. Sephiroth looked down at his son, the living remnant of his wife, and smiled. Hotaru was right, as always.
He wasn’t alone.

Date: 2007-10-02 01:21 am (UTC)Hey, she's the Senshi of Rebirth, she'll be back! Right? ... right? *cries*My favorite part is Sephiroth's reaction to her death, just remaining in that state of grief-stricken limbo. I always thought that in my ficverse, his response to Hotaru's death would be pretty darn similar (unless whatever killed her was still at large. Then heaven help anything that got between him and his prey).
Can't wait until the next batch. ^^ You made my Monday!

Date: 2007-10-02 03:03 am (UTC)To clarify. Hematite is the Living senshi of death, destruction, and rebirth. His duties take place in the living world, such as defending the living senshi. Hotaru is the Guardian senshi of death, desturction and rebirth, so her duties now take place in the Lifestream/spirit world, welcoming the newly dead, tossing back those who aren't ready to die, and reincarnating those who need to move on. Her one perk is being able to sneak back across every now and then to check on Hematite and snuggle with Seph, but she can't stay permanently.
Still, being able to see them sometimes is better then her being one forever.

Date: 2007-10-04 01:43 am (UTC)have hot romantic sexsnuggle with Sephiroth, as well as see her son sometimes. And of course one day, Sephiroth might pass on and join her himself...I can't wait for the next batch. *squee*!
