FF7/Sailor Moon (Sephiroth/Sailor Saturn)
Oct. 8th, 2007 10:15 amTitle: Absence
Author: belladonna12
Rating: pg-13
Word count: 232
Summary: The middle of the night is a time for recalling things…
A/N: Short. Freaking short. Compared to most of my writing impossibly short. This one is a drabble, sorry. This one’s actually in the process of being tied into a ficverse, as well as a few other pieces that make an appearance here.
Disclaimer: I don’t own the ideas for FFVII or Sailor Moon, nor am I making any money off of this.
Prompt: Final Fantasy VII/Sailor Moon, Sephiroth/Sailor Saturn: Silk sheets - “She always liked the color purple.”
Absence
Three in the morning is a time for recalling things. Often enough, things one never wants to actively recall. The world is dark, and quiet, and cold, and usually, you’re all alone with your thoughts. That is infinitely better then staring down at purple cat’s eyes that take up far too much space in that little face as your son waits for you to talk to him.
“Sephiroth Tou-San, what was Mama like?”
It’s always the worst question at the worst time. So much to say about her. She was a Princess of Destruction, a Goddess of Death, and a Harbinger of Rebirth. She was a soldier, a maiden, a woman. She was frail when human, so delicate she seemed like spun glass. She’d kicked him across a battlefield in those crazy boots of hers. She was shy. She was naked except for magical energy when she transformed. She was larger than life. Her head barely came up to his chest. She was a royal being, a creature of silk sheets and passion. She was a sacrifice, buying time so that their son could grow up. Lying on those silk sheets, wishing they held more warmth, Sephiroth hugged the only living remnant of her tight. Hematite wiggled a little, to be comforted by his father’s voice, even if what was said made no sense to him.
“She always liked the color purple.”
