It's Larsa's idea, of course, and there's a good ten seconds after he suggests it that Vaan and Penelo just kind of both stand there like they must have heard him wrong. Some really petty corner of Vaan's mind is glad that Penelo is caught off guard, too, so it's not like she'll be able to hold it over his head later.

"Um," he says, when he can't stand the silence anymore, "how does that even work?"

Larsa blinks at him. "You've no experience with this?" He sounds so surprised that Vaan blushes, maybe just a little.

"Well, basically, yes," Penelo says, and that is definitely something Vaan will have to ask about later, "but -- you do realize there are three of us, right?"

"Ah," Larsa says, "is that all?" He starts taking off his gloves, which Balthier says usually means somebody is serious. "I suppose we don't have to do it all at once, if one of you would rather wait, but it seemed the best way to avoid jealousy. At least the first time."

Vaan still has objections, he's pretty sure, starting with but we're both boys, but Penelo is starting to unbuckle her bodysuit and Larsa is smiling at her and -- there's no way, Vaan realizes all at once, that he's going to just leave the two of them here like this.

"Okay," he says, reaching for the clasps of his armor, his heart pounding. "You win. Where do we start?"

Larsa comes over to him, steadies himself with one bare hand against Vaan's side, and stretches up to press their lips together in a kiss.

Oh, Vaan thinks. Oh.

I love how Larsa has it all sorted out despite being the youngest (Archadian upbringing go!), and Vaan is totally not sure about this but isn't going to show it (at least not consciously), and the dialogue makes me giggle. ♥ ♥

It's amazing how you managed to capture their voices so perfectly in just a few sentences! I simply adore how Larsa were completely in control, how Penelo simply took it in stride, and how Vaan was cutely confused (as usual, haha).

I was actually really looking for Larsa/Vaan, but there isn't any, and who can help but love Penelo anyway? This made me feel all happy and warm inside.^^

^^ Thank you! Their dynamic is kind of a different one for me -- I have trouble with the plucky kids in the party -- but I really like them. It was so cute watching them all hang out together and be playful in-game.

Oh, this is so hot and cute! I love how they all manage to be so IC, even in a scenario that kinda stretches the boundries of canon, with Larsa forging on boldly, Penelo cheerfully going along with a fun idea and Vaan sort of cluelessly going on with things. Poor Vaan-- he's always a step behind on everything, no? ;)
