Prompt: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Kimberly/Aisha: sleepover - light of a full moon
A/N: This prompt is for February 26. I apologize for its tardiness.
"Thanks for letting me spend the night." Kimberly collapsed backwards onto Aisha's bed with a sigh.
Aisha joined her, rolling over to hug her best friend. "You know you're always welcome here, girl." Her face clouded. "You okay, Kim? I mean...no offense, but you don't look so good."
"I just can't stop thinking about..." The Pink Ranger shuddered. "You know...what Rita said."
"Surely you aren't taking her seriously." Aisha pushed herself up to lean against the headboard. "She's about as good with the witchcraft as she is defeating us."
"Maybe." Still, Kimberly couldn't help but glance toward the window. The moon would be up soon and the words of the curse kept running through her mind.
"Anyway, Zordon said the Power should protect us from black magic, so what do you have to worry about? Right?"
With Aisha watching her expectantly, she could hardly disagree, so she nodded. The Yellow Ranger was probably right. There probably wasn't anything to worry about, but she was PMSy and worried that Tommy would never speak to her again after the big fight they'd had, so she'd probably blown everything out of proportion.
"You hungry?" Aisha bounced off the bed. "With Mom and Dad gone, we can have pretty much whatever we want."
Raising herself up on her elbows, Kimberly chewed on her bottom lip while she thought. She'd have felt better if Aisha's parents were there, but if anything really happened, she guessed it was better if nobody was around to get hurt. "I have twenty dollars in my purse. We could always just order pizza."
Aisha's eyes lit. "Pizza it is." She scrambled for the phone on the desk in the corner of her room. "You want to invite the guys?"
"I think...I'd rather not. Okay? I just..."
Aisha stopped, phone in hand, to study her again with worried eyes. "I'm going to call Zordon," she said, reaching for her communicator.
"Please don't call him. He'll think I'm...I'm..." Kimberly sat up. "Maybe I'm just being stupid."
"This spell stuff really has you bothered." Dropping the receiver back onto its cradle, Aisha returned to Kimberly. "Nothing is going to happen." She took the Pink Ranger's hands in hers. "I'm your best friend and I'll take care of you no matter what."
"You promise?"
Aisha nodded, made an X in the air across her chest. "Cross my heart."
Somehow, that knowledge made her feel better. Kimberly exhaled slowly. "Do you mind if I take a shower while we're waiting for pizza?"
"Mi shower es su shower." She was silent as Kim opened her hastily packed overnight bag and dragged out sweats, a tee shirt and clean underwear. It wasn't until the Pink Ranger was halfway to the bathroom door that she added, "You need to forget about Rita for the night. Relax. We'll eat and watch scary movies all night. In the morning..." she shrugged. "It'll all be over."
Kimberly sighed. It was the last night of the full moon. After that, Rita's spell--if there really was a spell would have no effect. Some of the tension drained from her body and she offered Aisha a half-hearted smile. "Yeah, I guess you're right." The smile brightened. "Mushrooms on the pizza?"
"Always."
"But, no Saw IV, right?"
"Never." Aisha wagged her head. "Scary Movie and Godzilla all the way.

Beneath the warm water, Kimberly relaxed, allowed herself to indulge in Aisha's scented body wash and matching shampoo. It smelled of lavender and chamomile, just like the label said and by the time she'd finished, she felt like a new person, all thoughts of the spell washed from her mind.
The tangy fragrance of pizza hit her nose as soon as she opened the bathroom door, and made her mouth water. Shoving her dirty clothes--still covered in grime from the pre-morphed fight that afternoon--into a zippered section of her bag, she threw it off the bed and into the corner before bounding from the bedroom and down the hall.
The living room was empty; the only sign of life the open pizza box in the center of the coffee table. The closing credits to a black and white movie--horror from the eerie sound of the score--scrolled down the television screen, but there was no other sound, no sign of the Yellow Ranger.
"Aisha?" Kimberly crept around the edges of the room, staying clear of the drape-covered windows as she made her way toward the darkened kitchen and the utility room to the back. "Aisha, this isn't funny."
She stopped at the border of light that spilled into the kitchen, unwilling to enter the darkness or to turn on the light. Afraid of what might happen or what might already have happened to Aisha if she made one wrong move, she back-tracked a step--then two--before whirling to run back to the bedroom for her communicator.
Rita stood directly behind her, staff raised, a crooked grin spread across her face. "Enjoying the full moon, Pink Ranger?"
"What...I don't know...how did you get here?" Kimberly danced backward, searching the room behind her, relieved to find it free of monsters. "What did you do with Aisha?"
Rita's shoulders rose and fell, her expression strangely bored. "Why, lured her outside, of course. It was you I came to see."
"If you've hurt her..." Kim's voice trembled. She hoped Rita hadn't noticed.
"Why would I hurt her?" the witch cackled. "I'm going to leave that part..." She shuffled forward to poke the Pink Ranger in the chest with one long-nailed finger. "To you."
Fear twisted Kimberly's stomach into a knot. "I'd never hurt Aisha."
"Maybe not intentionally, but..." Rita shrugged again. With a sweep of her wand, she opened all the curtains in the room until moonlight spilled across the carpeted floor. "Behold the power of the Moon."
The room exploded with light, forcing Kimberly to close her eyes. Energy crackled through her body, sent spasms twitching through her arms and legs. In her blindness, she stumbled over something low and hard and fell backwards. When her head struck a sharp corner, she had a moment to realize she was helpless, at Rita's mercy. Then the lights and sounds of the real world faded, and unconsciousness wrapped her in darkness.

"Kim? Kimberly, wake up."
What she assumed an earthquake proved to be Aisha shaking her. When she opened her eyes, the movement stopped. "I...uh...what happened?" While the Yellow Ranger hauled her into a sit, Kimberly rubbed the back of her head with one hand. "What hit me?"
"Edge of the TV, it looks like. You okay? Here, let me have a..."
"No." Kim shook her head. Surprisingly, the movement hurt little. "I think I'm...Rita was here!" Pushing against the coffee table, she forced herself to her feet.
"No way, Kim. Zordon would have..."
"She was here. I promise. She opened the curtains and let the moonlight in and..." The curtains were closed, the semi-darkened room lit only by a small Tiffany lamp on one end table by the sofa. "She was here. I saw her."
Though doubt flickered across Aisha's face, she nodded. "I believe you...I think. Should we call Zordon? What did she do? Did she..."
"She made me go all tingly." Kim examined her hands, looked down across her body to her bare feet. "Actually, the moon did. As soon as the light touched me, it was like...like...I changed."
"You look the same to me."
Kim studied her reflection in the glass of the entertainment center. It was true. She looked exactly the same. She felt queasy, though, and a little uncomfortable with Aisha near. Swallowing hard, she moved to the sofa and dropped onto one of the well-worn cushions.
"Kimberly?" Aisha followed her, studied her with worried eyes before dropping down beside her. "I know that look. What's wrong?"
The queasiness turned to excitement that rippled through the Pink Ranger's body like electricity the moment Aisha drew near. Funny, she'd known the Yellow Ranger was pretty, but she'd never really noticed how pretty until then. Oh, god. All thoughts of Tommy and their fight fled in the face of her best friend. She suddenly wanted to touch her, kiss her...get her into bed. "I'm a...I'm a...I think I like girls instead of boys."
"Hey." Aisha scooted closer, wrapped her arm around the Pink Ranger's trembling shoulders. "There's nothing wrong with that. You're still Kimberly, and that's what's important."
With tears in her eyes, Kim moaned. "But...what am I going to tell Tommy?"
Turning Kimberly's face with a gentle hand, the Yellow Ranger peered into her eyes. The ghost of a smile played at her lips. "Who says you have to tell him anything?"
Kim sniffled again. "Don't you think he'll, like...be able to tell?"
"Rita's curse only works when the moon is full, right?"
The Pink Ranger nodded. Her life was over. Why couldn't Aisha understand?
"That's only for a couple of days, Kim." Aisha hugged her. "Tommy will never know."
"But, what if...what if...I just..." Kimberly burst into tears.
"Oh, don't cry." The Yellow Ranger brushed the tears from her cheeks.
Aisha was warm against her...too warm. Kimberly felt a tingling in the pit of her stomach. "Do you hate me now?" she asked in a quiet voice.
The responding kiss stirred the tingling into desire. The Pink Ranger clutched desperately at the Yellow's Rangers arms, fearful that if she let go, everything would change, and Aisha would hate her. They parted long enough to come up for air and then resumed again, each kiss more passionate than the one before.
She'd never felt this way with Tommy, never the excitement of something she'd considered taboo. Before Kim could stop herself, her fingers slid off Aisha's arms, and made their way beneath the other girl's loose top. The other girl squirmed, gasped, and before Kimberly knew it, Aisha's bra went loose, inviting exploration.
The skin was soft and warm, the breast full and squishy. Kimberly almost giggled at the thought, but she liked it so much, she didn't want to jinx her chance of going further.
The phone rang and both girls jumped, laughing as soon as the shock of being startled wore off. Kim couldn't resist the surge of guilt when she wondered who was calling and what they'd think if they knew what she and Aisha had been doing.
"Don't worry." Aisha squeezed her hands before she reached for the phone. "We've got the rest of the night to sort this out, but..." She smiled shyly. "Personally, I think full moons are going to be kinda nice."
