Seeing as there's been a lot of discussion this round about the prompt claiming issue, I have decided to up the prompts claims for this round to 4 for fic, 4 for art per prompt.

This isn't a rule for all rounds yet - I'll want to talk with animadri before making changes affecting future rounds - but for the whole of this round (the June round), this increase in claims per prompt will stick, as I have no desire to penalise anyone who had been following community claiming rules and this will allow more people to get a chance at claims they particularly wanted without imposing unexpected limitations.

If any new rules are made for the next round, they'll be announced with plenty of fanfare to make sure everyone knows.

My apologies to anyone who has been negatively affected by the wait for a response.

So, to sum up;

- Fic and art claims per prompt have been upped from two of each type to four of each type per prompt for this round.

Now I can crack on with actually registering those claims! *deep breath, dives in*

Quick question: does that mean that if, say, three people tried to claim a prompt on day one, the third person now gets it as well, or do we have to re-claim?

Thank you so much for doing this, you've been amazingly awesome through this whole discussion. :) *offers internet cookies. and porn.*

edit: A quick thought I had - probably, with 4 claims, it's not going to be a problem, but either this round or next I was wondering about setting up a post, once all the claims have been logged, where people who have claimed a lot of prompts could offer a few back if they're willing - I mean, I want to write everything I've claimed, but there are some I'm _desperate_ for and others I could live without if someone else really wanted them.

With four per, you have much better chances for claiming, actually.

Thank you so much for doing this!

... Of course, now I can't bring myself to give up any of the prompts I claimed initially, even though most of them weren't in my first-choice category. Whoops. Will just have to write even more fic, I guess. XD

I hope any new rules will include something about following people to their personal journals and harassing them.

Wow...that's really distasteful. I second this.

Oh, thank you so much! There were a couple of prompts that I wanted that I was kind of worried about not getting. Thank you!

... I was going to say something like: 'I'm not sure if that'll increase the number of ficlets written for certain prompts (i.e. the ones for popular fandoms and pairings, while making people a little less inclined to give the rarer ones a go, because they've only got that much spare time) or if it'll just increase the number of ficlets, period' but given how enthusiastic everyone who's replied to this post seems to be, I guess that's just me being needlessly negative and gloomy.

One thing I did wonder was if the 'prompts stay around for two rounds tops'-rule has been dropped for good, or just for this round. It always seemed a nice way of keeping the (huge) lists of prompts up-to-date and prevent it from getting too cluttered.
