Bored [Trigun Maximum, Wolfwood/Vash, PG]
Jun. 6th, 2008 05:24 pmTitle: Bored
Author:
misura
Rating: PG for mentioning of games not played in mixed company
Warnings: None.
Summary: The games two people can play. (There were less of them than you'd think.)
A/N: A drabblet.
Wolfwood sighed and decided that like it or not, he was screwed - and not in the reasonably nice, 'played rock-paper-scissors to decide who's on top and lost' kind of way, either. With a bit of luck, some smart thinking and a lot of evasiveness, he might be able to last another fifteen minutes, tops. Luck had never been one of Wolfwood's favorite things to put his trust into, and at a few hours past midnight, he didn't really feel up to any deep thinking or skillful deceit.
Vash, typically, looked wide awake, like he'd be able to keep on going for another week, if it wasn't a month. That was justice for you, Wolfwood supposed, lighting a cigarette.
"All right, Spikey, truth or dare?"
"Dare!" said Vash, eyes gleaming, just like the past twenty times or so it had been Wolfwood's turn to ask the question. With anyone else, Wolfwood would have assumed that meant they both had too many things they didn't want to talk about, but with Vash, he wasn't completely sure.
Wolfwood leaned back and took a drag of his cigarette.
"I dare you to stop playing this stupid game and let me get some sleep."
Vash blinked. Wolfwood closed his eyes and made himself comfortable.
"That's not a fair dare!" protested Vash. Wolfwood said nothing. "Dare me to do something else!"
"Nope," said Wolfwood. "Either do this one, or lose the game. It's all the same to me, anyway."
"Fine." Vash dropped himself next to Wolfwood, arms crossed over his chest, expression set firmly to 'pouty and going to be that way for a looong time'. "See? I'm doing it."
"Uh-huh." Wolfwood suppressed a yawn, along with all thoughts of how long he'd still be stuck on this transport, with Vash and nothing better to do than play games and sleep. Instead, he focused on falling asleep as quickly as possible. For the moment, Vah was leaving him alone, but Wolfwood knew him; any moment now, Vash would get fed up with doing nothing and say something like:
"I'm bored."
Wolfwood groaned.
(If only he'd brought a deck of cards, he reflected, they could have played strip-poker - Vash's poker-face wasn't worth a damn and unlike Wolfwood, he didn't seem to mind losing.)
