Summary: The naked girl near the window on a morning.
A/N: A drabble with artistic pretensions. Posted a day early, with apologies.


Outside the window: sky, and the sounds of a city - people and cars and more people, some innocent and some guilty, some going somewhere and some going nowhere but back to where they've come from, back to where they've gone a thousand times before.

Near the window: a chair, and a table, a half-full, half-empty cup of tea on it, cooling yet still a little warm to the touch.

The sound of a pencil scratching over paper, a woman sighing as another (soundlessly) frowns in concentration - the sunlight filtering through the half-closed blinds illuminates both of them, brightly, and the day, yes, the day is as beautiful as they are, to each other.

("Mireille.")

("Almost done. Are you cold?")

("No ... yes. A little.")
