Summary - Princess Tutu, Princess Kraehe/Princess Tutu - comforting - "Neither of us can have him / We have each other."
What does a princess do without a prince?
A prince can go save the world, but what of the girl in the tower? Does she wait or pray? Does she turn to the stars or to the loom? Does she drive herself mad and fall from the very heights that sheltered her? Will the prince even notice the sound of her body hitting the ground?
Questions, Kraehe thought, reflect themselves in the body. And she could see Princess Tutu's questions in her pale arms as they circled the air around Kraehe's waist. Kraehe noted the hesitation, the lingering of dust on her fingernails as she floated away, her steps kissing the floor. Kraehe simply smiled and with a flick, grabbed onto Tutu's hand and caressed her breakable neck with her crimson nails. Her grip tightened as she dragged Tutu into a different dance that shook away the questions from her eyes.
"Kraehe," Tutu's voice was not reproachful, "You're hurting me."
Krahe simply replied with a pirouette and slipped her hands behind Tutu's breakable neck. She touched her forehead and said, "So? Can you not handle a little pain, Tutu?"
Tutu's comforting blue eyes stared back at her, "I don't enjoy it."
Kraehe laughed, "But it makes you stronger. Don't you want to be strong?"
Tutu's steady gaze wavered and she curled into Kraehe, fitting into her like a puzzle piece. "Then teach me," she breathed softly onto Kraehe's face, her eyelashes fluttering.
Kraehe tugged Tutu's hair and kissed her cheeks warmly, "What if you break?"
Tutu sighed as Kraehe's nails tear across her skin and clothes, "And what if you do?"
"Ah," Kraehe whispered into Tutu's ear, "I wonder...what then?"
