Monsters lived inside Vincent’s head. He reminded Cloud of that fact with his teeth.

The echos of Gallian Beast rumbled in Vincent’s throat as his teeth nipped on Cloud’s neck. It was only with a great deal of self-control and willpower that Vincent did not sink his canines further into Cloud’s skin, or else the taste of blood would only arouse the monsters more. Instead, the Turk left a line of red marks down Cloud’s neck, shoulder and arm as he sucked hard on the younger man’s skin, biting just hard enough to elicit a hiss from Cloud’s nostrils.

For Cloud, it was a huge test of trust that Vincent did not tear the flesh from his bones and drink the blood from his arteries. He laid perfectly still as Vincent’s mouth slowly traveled across his body, remaining tranquil as the monster growled from within Vincent.

There was a reason Cloud did not mind Vincent’s inhumanity. 

Cloud is crazy, so Vincent believed. No other explanation fit–what sane man would allow an assassin, who could turn into a beast at any moment, to chew and suck on his own body?

Vincent’s biting became slightly more ravenous, as he raked his teeth across Cloud’s chest to his stomach. Cloud’s abdomen rose and fell slowly with each breath, as Vincent's tongue licked a line between the young man's abdominal muscles.  Cloud’s skin, and his flesh was firm.  The beasts within Vincent cried out to rip into the young man and eat Cloud alive.

Perhaps there was another explanation, Vincent thought to himself, why Cloud tolerated, even indulged the demons within Vincent.  Cloud, too, was possessed by his own demons. The young man was haunted by the ghost of a warrior he so desperately wanted to become. For too many years, Cloud had confused his own past with his fallen mate. Plus, there was the ghosts of Sephiroth, Jenova, Aeris...

Cloud’s head was just as crowded as Vincent’s. So Cloud was only as crazy as Vincent.

Yet Vincent was the one in control, of the monsters in his head, and of Cloud’s body. He held the beasts at bay, and kissed his way back up Cloud’s torso. He licked the hallow of Cloud’s throat, as the younger man made a animal-like growl of his own.

When their mouths met, Vincent’s teeth bit just a little too hard on Cloud’s lip, and Vincent tasted blood. The monsters in Vincent’s head roared, as the mens’ mouths mashed violently against each other. Cloud  flipped them over and pinned Vincent down, arms against the mattress, legs wound together, as Vincent’s body bucked and grinded against Cloud.  The beasts cried out to be set free.

The monsters would not be set loose on Cloud, however. Vincent would not allow them to be.  Instead, he focused his crowded mind on the man on top of him, concentrated on warm skin and strong arms and soft, swollen lips that kept his monsters in check.

Vincent let out a roar, then the monsters were once again calm and quiet. He and Cloud laid together, sweaty and sticky and exhausted from their late-night exorcism.

Vincent murmured a "thank you" into Cloud’s ear, then nipped at his earlobe.

Cloud muttered a "you’re welcome" through a bloody, swollen lower lip, before falling asleep on Vincent’s shoulder.
