Warnings: extreme snark?
Word Count: 577
Summary: Stealing sex manuals from your adopted dad’s boyfriend — it’s just another normal day in the life of Bikky and Carol.
Prompt: Nov 7 - FAKE, Bikky/Carol: Kama Sutra - "I found it in the drawer in Dee's nightstand."
“Where did you get this?” Carol frowned, taking the worn paperback from Bikky’s hand and flipping it open. “Don’t tell me you bought it.”
They were sitting on the floor of Ryo’s bedroom, the windows thrown open to quell the heavy New York summer heat. Ryo hadn’t thought it was hot enough for the air conditioner yet, though Bikky greatly disagreed on this point. Unfortunately, Ryo was out at the moment, and he didn’t want to fiddle with anything and make Ryo mad. Besides, Carol hadn’t complained about it, and he wasn’t going to be such a wuss in front of her.
Bikky’s smug expression didn’t waver for a second. “I found it in a drawer in Dee’s nightstand,” he told her triumphantly. “Ryo dragged me along because he needed to give Dee some things, so I took the opportunity to do a little snooping.”
“You left Ryo at Dee’s mercy so you could steal his copy of the Kama Sutra?” Carol raised an eyebrow at the boy, who rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged. “That doesn’t seem very like you. Well, sort of.”
“A small sacrifice.” He paused, looking contemplative. “Dee was strangely well-behaved while we were there.”
“Or maybe Ryo was just being really quiet,” Carol teased, grinning.
“Oh, shut up,” Bikky muttered, grabbing the book back from her. “You’re gonna give me nightmares.”
Carol rolled her eyes, leaning back against the bed and stretching out her legs across Bikky’s lap. “Like finding out that Dee owns the Kama Sutra isn’t nightmare-inducing enough?”
Bikky glanced down at the paperback as if this thought hadn’t crossed his mind. “Carol,” he said determinedly at last.
“Hm?”
“We can’t give this back to Dee.”
“But Bikky,” Carol said, poking his arm accusingly, “he’s going to notice it’s missing eventually.”
Bikky swallowed anxiously, looking up at Carol with an expression of dismay on face. “But what if…with Ryo…”
Laughing, Carol ruffled Bikky’s hair, saying, “Well I don’t think he’s been reading the part that tells you how to treat your wife.”
“…How do you know what’s in the Kama Sutra?”
“I might have…flipped through it once or twice before.”
Bikky’s gaze fell to the book in his hands for a long while before glancing back up at Carol. “Anything good in it?”
Carol smiled. “We can’t keep it. Dee’ll definitely notice it’s gone by the time I turn eighteen.” She made a face. “Hopefully he won’t be looking for it because I’ve turned eighteen.”
Blushing fiercely, Bikky threw the Kama Sutra at Carol’s chest. “Don’t say such disgusting things,” he protested, conveniently not replying to the implications of her first sentence.
“Hey, you’re the one imagining Ryo and Dee getting it on — ”
“Carol!”
Carol laughed again, picking the Kama Sutra up from where it had fallen on the floor. “Take it back and apologize to Dee, okay?” Bikky glared at her, so she sighed and amended her statement. “Go sneak it back into Dee’s nightstand, okay?”
“Fine,” Bikky mumbled, taking the book from her once more.
“That’s a good boy,” Carol said teasingly, but before Bikky could complain she leaned forward and kissed his temple lightly. “We’ll get our own copy later, shall we? Though I’m sure Dee’d be only too happy to lend it to us if we just ask.”
Bikky groaned and flopped backwards so he was staring up at the bedroom ceiling. Sometimes he couldn’t tell if he loved Carol or hated her.
