Prompt:: Fruits Basket, Yuki/Kyo/Tohru - Halloween costumes: "tonight's the night you get to be someone else entirely"
Summary:: Tohru and Yuki go to Ayame’s shop to get their costumes for a Halloween party.
“You’re going to look simply divine tonight!” Ayame clapped his hands together.
Mine, his assistant, clapped along with him.
Tohru blushed as she looked in the mirror. She smoothed her hand down the black leotard, its long black sleeves clinging to her arms. Black tights covered her legs and the boots she wore were specially made with white fur. She looked to her wrist at the white fur and touched the black ears on her head.
Ayame worked on her makeup, painting her entire face white before he drew a black circle on her nose, accented her eyebrows, and added whiskered details.
“You’re such an adorable kitten!”
Tohru turned in front of the mirror, getting used to the costume’s tail.
“Now, for the final touch!” Ayame went into a cabinet for a cute black collar, complete with a little bell, and put it on Tohru with a flourish.
Yuki came out from another room, a perplexed look on his face. “Ayame, why is there a leash in my dressing roo-
He froze when he saw Tohru, giving Ayame a stern look.
“Isn’t it obvious, little brother?”
Tohru smiled shyly. “You look nice, Yuki. Who are you supposed to be?”
“I’m not quite sure,” Yuki said. He was dressed in a black tuxedo, black cape with red lining, top hat, and a white mask. He even had a rose tucked in one of the pockets.
“You are a mysterious man of the night who swoops in to rescue the damsel!” Ayame looked far too pleased with himself.
Kyo walked into the shop. “Excuse me, is Tohr-
He gulped when he saw her.
“Oh! Hello, Kyo! Do you like my costume?”
“It’s very…nice.”
“I really do like cats,” Tohru smiled.
Kyo was at a loss for words, but found them when he saw Yuki holding a leash. “What’s that for?!”
Yuki hadn’t realized he was still holding it and tossed it to the ground. “Something my brother gave me as a joke.”
Kyo glared at Ayame.
“What are you supposed to be?” Ayame raised an eyebrow at the tattered clothes, fake cutlass, and ninja hood around his face, with a bandanna on top of that.
“I’m a pirate ninja,” Kyo said.
“Youth,” Ayame murmured. Turning to the others, “Well, you best be off to your party. You don’t want to be late!”
“Wait!” Mine waved around the camera. “We need a photo!” At everyone’s less than enthused looks, Mine frowned, but herded them together against the wall. “Smile!”
When Ayame looked at the photo later, he chuckled. Tohru was smiling between the two boys, making a V sign with her fingers. Yuki, after Ayame’s insistence, held the rose out to the camera. Kyo posed menacingly with his cutlass, making some sort of ninja posture in the process.
With a smile he put the photo in a frame and placed it on the counter.
