The Inevitability Of [Final Fantasy X, Auron/Rikku, PG]

Title: The Inevitability Of
Author/Artist: leviathanmirror
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Prompt: Auron/Rikku: something they know is wrong - another tie he'll have to break, another mistake she'll come to regret.
Word count: 200

He leans against the wall next to her door and listens to her cry through the metal.

Later, she will come to him and twine her fingers in his hair and kiss him until she's breathless.

He'll pull her into his lap, thinking all the while of what will happen if they successfully defeat Sin. Trying not to think of what will eventually happen if they don't.

He'll slide ungloved hands over tanned skin, through golden hair; watch green and black spiral eyes close in pleasure.

He'll know they are making a mistake. He'll enjoy every second of it anyway.

***

She'll curl herself into him afterward, fingers still caught in his loose hair and she won't cry anymore.

She will stay still in his arms and relearn how to breathe through grief and pleasure, comfort and pain.

She'll let herself think of a future where she can fall asleep like this every night. Her father won't approve; he doesn't like Auron. She disagrees with him but she loves him anyway.

She'll wonder if she'll have to choose. She'll wonder what would be the right choice if she did.

She'll wonder if they're making a mistake. She won't think so.

This pacts quite the punch. Very well done, and I loved Auron's POV in particular. :D

I love this. Awesome imagery in just small sentences. And the repetition fit very well. Great job.

Happy prompter is happy :D

(I'm sorry it's taken me so long to comment on this - real life went kerboom.)

I love it. You got a lot of character into not many words, and that's always awesome. Rikku's pondering on choosing between her love and her family kinda yanked the heartstrings a bit - poor baby. :( And the last line in Auron's section is just...yes.

:D Thanks!!!
