Warnings: Ridiculous amounts of fluff.
Prompt: Final Fantasy X-2, Yuna/Tidus. They've got their happy ending, and it might be boring to outsiders, but they've earned it. Now it's time to enjoy it.

Summary: No one is as lucky as us / we're not at the end but we've already won (Paramore, Where The Lines Overlap)
Sometimes I really think I’m the luckiest guy in the world.
Even though it’s raining again. Winters in Besaid apparently aren’t all that cold, but they sure are soggy. All this wet makes the entire island turn bright green, but it’s a little depressing not to be able to see the sun for three weeks straight.
It’s been a few months, and I guess this is what normal is now. Blitz practice every afternoon, then coming home to kisses and chocolate chip cookies; playing roll-the-blitzball-back-and-forth with Vidina, teasing Rikku about her hair and that stupid excuse for an outfit, and trying not to roll my eyes at all this wedding-planning craziness. And waking up like this every morning – rain on the windows, messed-up brown hair tickling my nose and the most incredible girl I’ve ever met curled up in my arms.
You know, if someone had come up to me on the street three years ago and told me where I’d be today, I would have laughed. I never planned on being the guy who gets it right the first time, who sees some girl, thinks she’s pretty and ends up falling head over heels for her. I never thought that’d be me. Now, I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be than right here. Funny how things change.
I think it’s a couple hours past dawn – kind of hard to tell through the clouds, but there’s a light spot about halfway up the sky. The best thing about Wakka scheduling practices in the afternoon is that it lets you sleep in. The only problem is that Yuna doesn’t like being cold, and she gets all snuggly and affectionate and it’s really hard to convince myself sometimes that getting out of bed is actually a good idea. It doesn’t always work, but luckily the guys are pretty cool about that because I’m not the only one who “accidentally” misses practice sometimes. They give me hell about being that stupidly in love, but hey. I’ll take the teasing if it means I get this too.
She always looks so delicate when she’s asleep. She’s completely peaceful – no politics making her want to throw things at the wall, no worries about Paine and her boys getting themselves blown up because Gippal can’t resist a challenge, none of the zillion little irritations that come with being High Summoner. The fact that she’s usually not wearing a stitch kinda helps with that impression, too. I know damn well she’s got a backbone of solid steel, she can probably take out anything she sees with those funny-looking guns and she’s not exactly some breakable little porcelain doll anymore, but sometimes I can still see that fragile girl who needed protecting. It’s not that I really miss that Yuna…but sometimes it’s a little weird to see her whip out those pistols and blow away something in one shot. First time I saw her do that I was completely confused – one second there’s fiends that need slicing up because they’re eyeing my girl, the next something goes bang-bang and there’s pyreflies and pretty lights and Yuna barely holding back a giggle at the look on my face. Apparently she thinks it’s cute when I make a total idiot of myself, or something like that. I don’t get it.
It’s not like she’s the only one who does that, though. Sometimes it’s the stupidest, most random little things that she does that stop me dead in my tracks. Like, she dances around while she’s washing the dishes. She has this funny little sphere-radio thing that she keeps in there, and she’ll have some bouncy song with lots of guitar playing and she’ll be dancing around the kitchen singing into a spatula like it’s a microphone – I think Yuna enjoyed that whole songbird thing more than she’s ever admitted - and I’ll just be standing there watching her and trying to figure out how the hell someone like me got someone like her. I usually try not to let her see me watching her, because even though she’s adorable when she blushes, it’s so great to see her be silly like that. She doesn’t do it often enough, if you ask me.
Sometimes I still can’t believe she’s mine. I don’t think I ever really had a choice in the matter – I was done for the second I saw her, even if I didn’t know it yet. I’m pretty sure she could have done a whole lot better, though. She could have had any guy on the planet – she still gets love letters and crap from the rich jerks with their mansions and great big estates and all sorts of junk – but she chooses to spend her time with me and uses the letters as firestarters. Apparently the fancier the parchment, the better it catches fire, and I’m not gonna pretend it’s not kinda nice to watch those things burn. Hopefully those’ll stop showing up in a few weeks – you gotta be pretty dense to try to court a married woman. And this is me saying that. She sighs softly and stretches, then giggles.
“I know you’re watching me, Tidus,” she says with a grin.
“Well, it’s a pretty nice view.” There’s some little part of my brain that goes Dude, bad line, but it’s kinda hard to be smooth and charming when you’re being distracted by a very pretty, very naked girl in a snuggly kind of mood. She giggles again and squirms closer, tucking her head under my chin with a happy little sigh.
And that does it. There’s no more “think” about it – I really am the luckiest guy in the world.

That was fantastic fanfic. It had wonderful imagery and good characterizations, while still remaining concise. All in all, very well written.
