I. Hello there! Just a friendly reminder: The party begins in eight days! July 1st contributors, are you ready? *G*
II. Posting instructions can be found here. Please follow them!
III. Let's talk characters or pairings or foursomes and moresomes or whatever or whoever you're currently digging. Let's talk OTCs, OTPs and OT3s. Let's talk about the characters you love, the ones you love to hate and the ones you hate to love. What's the appeal? What is it about them in particular that inspires you to put pen to paper or fingers to keys? Talk to me!

Date: 2007-06-23 08:14 pm (UTC)Ooh, this sounds fun. The people I claimed and why:
Suikoden III -- Yuber and Albert. Issues of power, issues of strength and contractual obligations and control. Albert may be nominally dictating the terms of their relationhip--but he's a mortal maggot just like everyone else, to Yuber. And the prompt in question for this--let the buyer beware--was just BAIT for me to take it.
FFXII -- Ashe and Basch. No matter how many fics I write about these two, I still don't 'ship them. With Ashe and Basch it's never about them as a pair; they always come to
bedthe table as individuals, for their own reasons. His mental and emotional fetters to her aside, and whatever attraction for him she may or may not have, this isn't a pairing. It's a Queen and her Knight and how much she will give him, how far she can push him, and who else they remember along the way.FFXII -- Gabranth and Drace. Their moment in the game is the single most intimate... and the most in tune with the game's message that whatever personal relationships a man has matter nothing in the face of war.
Gankutsuou -- Franz and Albert. Canon since Dumas. ::giggle:: Also, fascinating, how much Franz craves and how little Albert sees.
Vagrant Story -- Ashley and Sydney. The latter pried the former's soul out of his body and waved it around like bait for a hound. What's not to love?
The Inhumans -- Medusa and Black Bolt. First time writing both, for this challenge, and it takes me back, let me tell you...but Medusa is so feisty and determined and her jealousy and craving to be wanted was just fascinating.
FFXII -- Vayne and Ashe. It's so wrong, so so very wrong, and yet, oh god, this aesexual, cerebral, godsbedamned stubborn man just made it work. Oh. Oh. I could write Vayne in this mindset for years and not regret it.
FFXII -- ...ehe. This one's a surprise.
Berserk -- Griffith and Judeau. The most levelheaded young rogue in the world has a crush. But then who wouldn't, on Griffith? First time writing Judeau, and he's such fun to get into the head of.
FFXII -- Ashe and Vossler. I could go on for ageas about these two, repression and yearning and gore and trust and the most potentially devastating clash of egoes possible in two people who want the exact smae thing. I've written tens of thousands of words on these two and show no sign of stopping, but I had yet to see this relationship portrayed from her point of view. So I did it. And it is going to be a long, terrible month waiting to post this story. It wants to be read. It wants to be read so much.

Date: 2007-06-23 09:14 pm (UTC)And yeah, about A/b... I did ::counts:: four prompts for them, and they're all quite different in tone and timbre. Not to mention the big scary epic series I wrote for, well, FFXII in general, but with an emphasis on Basch and another emphasis on Ashe. And I love exploring all of the ways that they play off each other.
