Maybe for those fans who want to be a part of the community and contribute but not feel up to writing or drawing? We could limit the number of claims for each prompt to maybe 1 or 2 for fanmixes. Never fear. From now until Round X begins (on September 1st) you can post whatever you have that you were unable to post within the time for Round IX last time.

You can even have a look at the prompts from previous rounds to write some things that went unclaimed last time, if you want. Think of it as 'adopting an unwanted prompt'. They're sad and they want your attention.

Hello, everyone. I'm Nanaki BH and I have been appointed your new official unofficial mod by

emerald_embers. Neither of us have been able to get in touch with

animadri, so you'll have to accept my "unofficial" title until I can be granted permissions on the site.

I fully intend to still give you guys a summer round. All the same rules as before apply.

The dates are slightly closer together in this round to cut out some time that I thought was being wasted last time. NOTICE: This is SOON. SOOOOOON.

How does it work?
When claiming opens, simply comment with the claims you'd like to make on the appropriate post - e.g. if there is a prompt you'd like to claim due November 23rd, comment on the post November 21st to November 25th.

When can I claim a prompt?
From the opening of the prompt lists for claiming to the end of the day the prompt is due.

What are the rules for making a claim?
Simply copy and paste the prompt you'd like to claim into a comment as explained above, and note if you would like to be making a fic claim, an art claim, and if you're collaborating with someone else, the username of your collaborator.

How many times can a prompt be claimed?
A prompt may be claimed up to six times in total - three fics, three art. No more than three claims of either type can be made and I will comment to let you know if your claim has been rejected. First come, first served, and edited comments do not get first come first served for additional claims - if you make one set of claims and would like to claim more, comment again separately. It's only fair that those with non-paid accounts shouldn't be disadvantaged by the queueing system.

How many words am I expected to write for a fic claim?
The minimum is 100 and there is no max.

When can I start writing/drawing?
As soon as you've received a comment from me telling you if your claim has been noted. Again - if it has been rejected, I will tell you immediately. There may be some delay between your posting a claim and my noting it due to my work hours, but I will attempt to respond to any claim within three days.

What happens if I default or am early/late posting?
Nothing.

springkink was originally set up as a low stress break from

yaoi_challenge and the central concepts have stayed steady; the main idea is to have fun, enjoy prompting whether you're a writer or not, enjoy fulfilling prompts whether you're an epic-writer or short-story-writer or an artist, and to basically just relax. However, if you are early or late with a prompt, you may want to include a little apology in the author/artist's notes for your prompter.

One of my prompts is duplicated/missing/needs altering/I want to withdraw, what do I do?
Simply send me a private message over Livejournal with details of the comment and what you wish to have done to it, and I'll make the adjustment for you.

- Who can post prompts?
Anyone over the age of 18 with a Livejournal account.

- Are there any rules when posting prompts?
Only that you should be signed in and posting to the prompt-accepting post for that round. Prompts posted on any other entry will be rejected, as will anonymous prompts.

- What is the standard format for submitting a prompt?
A number (based on the number of days in the posting month, so between 1 to 30/31 as standard); a fandom, a pairing: A kink - a phrase/idea/lyric.

1. Crossover: Final Fantasy 7/Kingdom Hearts; Reno/Leon: handcuffs - we're a little more creative in our world.

- What happens to prompts if they are not fulfilled?
They will be reposted for one more round and then deleted from the prompts lists.

- Can prompts be withdrawn?
Yes. The writer of the prompt may withdraw their prompt at any time before claiming begins.

- Who can write/draw for a prompt?
Anyone over the age of 18 with a Livejournal account who is a member of the community. You cannot, however, claim your own prompts. More on this in the claims FAQ!

- Should prompts be posted in one comment or several? What happens if someone wants to post more prompts later?
You can comment as many times as you like within the claiming period and do not have to post all your prompts in one go. However, posting all your prompts in one or two comments does make life quite a lot easier for your mod ;).

- Can I advertise springkink in other communities/on my flist?
As long as the community's mods/your flist don't mind, feel free!

- What do the numbers in the prompts mean, and do they have to be in order?
Whatever number you put down next to your prompt will be the due date for posting fanfic/fanart for that prompt in the posting month. i.e. if you choose 11, your prompt will have and fanfic/fanart written/drawn for it posted on the 11th of the posting month. And I use an Excel spreadsheet to organise the prompts so no, the numbers don't have to be in order when you submit them.
